Fantastic service! Great drinks! Wonderful food! And a lovely atmosphere.
I was bummed to see Twigs go, liking their cocktails and some of their salads and flatbreads. But when I discovered this place with my mom, we decided to give it a try and it was totally worth it. I was immediately impressed by the interior design, laid back, warm, but classy. The service was the next thing I noticed. At first, we merely peered at the menus, not sure if we were going to have lunch there or not, but the ingredients intrigued me, reminding me a bit of Italy when me and my husband went last year. Sitting down, our server was so friendly and bubbly. I can’t recall her name, but she was adorable and patient as we took a bit of time deciding on what to get. I ended up with the rosé spritz, which was light, refreshing, not overly sweet, and it had sparkles! lol. My mom got a vodka cocktail I can’t recall the name of, but it was lovely as well. As for food, we decided to split a pizza and salad. We split the sweet beat and chicken which was fabulous! However, we were torn between two types of pizza, the funghi and one of the prosciutto ones, but our server was able to help us, saying we could do half and half. We went with the hot honey prosciutto, which wasn’t really that spicy. It was fantastic! Again, reminded me of Italy. In Rome, pizza was everywhere and it isn’t your typical pizza. It’s thinner with a crisp crust, sometimes with mushrooms. Sometimes with cured meat. Always with fresh ingredients. Well… this place nailed it and it was so good! The hot honey had a delicious red sauce with a sprinkling of pecorino and smoked prosciutto. It also had some arugula, which brought all the flavors together. It wasn’t overly sweet, but just slightly. The funghi had the slightest truffle essence without being too overwhelming. It had more cheese, and was so delicious. The mushrooms weren’t too soggy from being overly cooked. All in all, fantastic. I’m going to have to go again, so my...
Read moreMy sister surprised me with reservations at North Italia for brunch over the weekend. It was so cute!! I loved this place!! We opted to sit outside since it was pretty & their patio is beautiful. The flies were a little annoying but we were able to get a little fan for the flies which helped a lot. I ordered an espresso martini & my sister ordered a mimosa. My boyfriend ordered a latte & her boyfriend ordered coffee. All were delicious! We started out with Italian meatballs and white truffle garlic bread. WOW! The garlic bread was mind-blowing! I’m still dreaming about these little squares of goodness. Everyone loved the meatballs as well, noted that they had amazing flavor infused in the actual meatball, which is hard to accomplish. For meals, I shared the breakfast carbonara pasta with my sister. They were able to separate this into two bowls for us, which was really nice. I loved this meal! The pasta was cooked to perfection, I loved the sauce with the egg. The egg was more of a hardboiled egg, instead of a poached egg, which the menu mentions. But I didn’t mind the egg being hardboiled either, honestly. My boyfriend ordered the americano breakfast & my sisters boyfriend ordered the same. One with scrambled eggs and one with over medium eggs. We also were able to get a side/half order of Strawberries and cream French toast to try! The syrup on this was amazing! We ordered a side of the crispy hash potatoes. These have some spice to them! I love how different these are, but wished they were a little less spicy for me to actually eat. Everyone else loved them though. They gave us a free dessert for my birthday. We ordered the Bombolini to go. They didn’t heat up as well as I wished they would have! I cannot wait to go back...
Read moreTried this place for the first time yesterday (on a Monday night) and overall was pleased. The service was quick and our waiter “Z” was great to talk to and made some good suggestions! The food is better than most restaurants in the area and despite the higher prices, I was okay paying the bill for the service that we were treated with. We only tried a couple of dishes, but the food was hot and came out within a very reasonable time. My girlfriend tried the chicken parm and loved the noodles, but due to a dislike of certain tomatoes, she wasn’t pleased with the chicken parm itself. When the issue was brought to the staff’s attention, they made it right and completely remade the main entree while still letting her keep the pasta that she enjoyed. She ordered the salmon and immediately gave it a 10/10 in her books. The crispness was perfect, flavor was fantastic, and it paired really well with the greens. I ordered the spicy rigatoni with a side of chicken and was very pleased with my dish. The chicken was juicy, not overly salty, and went really well with the pasta. Out of all the Italian places I’ve tried, this meal was a solid 8/10 for me. The white truffle garlic bread was also amazing; not too oily or garlicky, and still had enough crunch to the outside of the bread. We will definitely be back with how we were treated, to try other dishes! The manager was also very helpful with making us feel reassured about the service. As a person who’s worked in multiple restaurants, the staff definitely seems like there’s some additional learning going on as service continues, but with any new restaurant that is a completely normal experience! Special thanks to Z for all his help, uplifting energy, and great conversation!...
