Well, I have some stuff to say!!!! First I want to say we were in bay 219 at 2 pm today. I forgot the name of my server but she was incredible. I read a lot of these reviews prior to going so I was a little skeptical. I live in nampa and have wanted to go here since they broke ground. But when I read a lot of these reviews I was a little hesitant. Then, for my birthday today my wife surprised me with Top Golf. So I’ll break down the visit in sections and then overall experience.
First, we arrived a little early and was greeted by the lady at the front desk. She was excited, happy and extremely kind. This matched my enthusiasm (which is hard to do) and made me feel great about being there. I was told that we would be texted about our bay when it was ready. They also said that there is a putt putt course outside for 5 bucks! This is so cool.
Second was the wait for the our bay. There is a full bar and restaurant there to enjoy your experience while you wait. The bartender was also extremely nice and honestly getting a glass of blue moon with a smile for $6.50 is worth it.
Third we were told the bay was ready and to go to our bay. We were on the second level and I didn’t even think to ask for it but I’m glad we got that one. It was amazing. The view of the snow covered mountains behind the range is breath taking! Wow. After our safety instructions we were introduced to our server. She was great like I said before. It needs to be said that they did an amazing job making this place feel warm and inviting. Also warm with heaters everywhere and not to mention every worker smiling. I can’t say how happy I am that we chose to come here for my birthday!
Fourth is the actual play of TopGolf. I have been to a few of these in other states so I knew what to expect but it had been a while. If you have never been then it’s a driving range but all the golf balls have gps chips that are tracked when you hit it. They put that ball tracking on the screen in front of you so you and friends can see it. They have all sorts of games and driving range games to play. It’s fun
Finally the food. I was very please with the quality of food. We had two burgers with fries and it did not disappoint. The burgers we had were the Smokehouse burger. Then, after finding out that it was my birthday they surprised me with an ice cream cookie Sunday. Thank you to the staff and chefs. I would say that 14 dollars for the burger is a little expensive given how much Top Golf is but the quality was good.
So overall I would say this is a definite Yes!!!!! You have to go and try this place out. Do not listen to any of these reviews that are negative. I’m including a few pics and I’m the really...
Read moreI've been to Vegas, Scottsdale, and now Boise Top Golf. Boise is the "least impressive" but it still functions as it should for the most part.
I read other reviews for info and we showed up on Saturday morning. We arrived 20ish mins before they opened and were 3rd in line. Got a bay immediately but they forced us to the 2nd story even though we wanted the ground level. (if you want to play virtual course style ground level is arguably necessary for a good experience due to ball flight distance measurements)
Our server was nice and did a fine job but it was clear that the majority of the staff is still learning the top golf systems. I overheard lots of questions between staff about how to handle situations and asking for advice.
The rubber tees provided are too short for drivers so bring your own and you can use them in the mat grass.
Zero local beers. Makes sense cause it's a big company and I'm sure they have specific deals with the major beer brands but... Def a bummer that you can only buy Bud/Modelo products.
Pricing seems fair overall. We played for 2 hours, each had 2 beers (4 beers total on tab), and ordered some chicken tenders+fries and it was $95 before tip +$20 tip so $115 total. Def worth the money to play a virtual round at pebble beach.
I will say the accuracy of the shots when playing virtual was worse here than at other locations. I think this is due to them not having the same type of sensor system as other facilities? But I'm not sure about that. All I know is that we would hit a ball a distance (based off their own measurements to colored circles) and the ball would register a much different number. So that was pretty annoying when playing virtual golf in terms of short game stuff.
Overall, I would recommend going. Just get there before they open, be nice, expect to wait a bit to get into a bay, expect to pay $20-$30/hr per person, and don't expect the accuracy to be very good.
Have fun out...
Read moreWent on a snowy day! We weren’t sure how the features would work correctly so I called ahead to ask. They said the sensors won’t work or read the shots if the snow gets heavier but a light snow should be fine. That information was accurate but it was a bummer to hit balls and not even get a reading!
We were hungry and wanted to order food and I want to express their food service is not a strong point. Our waitress said we had to wait to order even though everyone in our party had an order to put in! So we got the drinks first and had to wait a bit. They forgot my daughter’s drink and eventually never brought it…they gave us waters though so she had that. Then when the food came we noticed we needed sauces and it took 10 minutes to get the sauces but the young man who brought them stood there and never put them down? It was strange he was about to walk away and we had to speak loudly and motion for him to place them at our table! Then we noticed our ketchup bottle already on the table was completely empty so I had to request that be refilled. The staff seemed so irritated by our requests! It’s not nice to feel like a burden as a paying customer. We just know what we like.
We weren’t finished eating and our original waitress wanted to clear the table up so that was odd too because we had time In our booth but she wanted to rush us.
The taste was fine for food though! Glad to have veggie options. Their BBQ sauce was spicy though and not as sweet as we would have liked.
As far as heating options I loved how warm they made the table area and seats for us! Huge plus.
They say it’s fine for pregnant ladies to golf but I would error that there was no way the woman in our party could have golfed. She needed elevator access to get upstairs and having limited movements with the growing belly, I’m not certain why they advise that it’s fine for her to...
