Strip's Chicken & Brewing — Restaurant in Merriam

I had heard about Strip's Chicken from their other locations but have never visited before. I have three kids with Celiac, so the gluten-free choices had me interested. We went to this location tonight and overall the entire meal was fantastic.

We had a variety of food between us, including the smoked buffalo wings, chicken strips, chicken nuggets, chicken parmesan sandwich, fries, and onion strings. All of the food was fantastic. The gluten-free kids were thrilled by their choices, and there wasn't anything that wasn't good. My picky daughter ate all her nuggets, something that rarely happens.

The service was good, but not great. We did have to wait a bit for service; however, it certainly wasn't bad enough to keep us from going back. I know this location hasn't been opened for very long so hopefully this is just learning pains. We did get everything we asked for and we did get refills eventually.

My only other complaint would be that this location apparently has a bit different menu, which wasn't obvious when looking online before our visit. For example, they list burgers and mac & cheese on the website. It turned out to be fine and everybody found something they enjoyed, but they should really update their online menu.

Finally, the price was decent, especially for gluten-free selections. Most restaurants want to price gouge, so that part makes it worthwhile.

We will definitely go back, but will probably make it next visit to one of the other locations so we can try our...

So....I decided to stop at this location because it's closer to home than the Olathe location. Nice little location on the corner. It was inviting from the outside and even on the inside. The server was very friendly. I am giving a low score because of PRICE. I first asked for the five piece combo which comes with five chicken strips and a side. I wanted the white chicken chili smashes. That rang up to $16 and some change so that was a no. So I was like give me my usual the three strips combo and smashed potatoes and I only asked for the smashed because I was told the premium white chicken chili was higher. I STILL paid $10 and some change. I will gladly continue to drive to Olathe and save $3. In Olathe it's rang up as a combo but at this location it's priced separately. As a combo!! Could be much better but some serious issues. Beer selection is good, food choices are completely inline with what you should expect. Understaffed (people were leaving after sitting there way too long without even getting drink orders.) You can’t have 20 tables and a bar with one person working front of house. Ownership issue. 2 of us ordered the same beer but we got one of them and then a different beer because the keg went empty. Rather than just bringing a different beer maybe ask. I did not get what I ordered and instead of fixing it I was brought sauces to put on it. I picked the place for a group of 6.
