Visiting Phoenix. We came across a Polish oasis in the middle of the American desert. ALL PIEROGI restaurant and grocery store.
ALL PIEROGI made my day and this trip. Speaking to the Polish lady in the store had me reminiscing of my own past.
To name a few items, we bought delicious in-house made rye bread. Freshly made Polish kielbasa. Frozen pierogi made from scratch in their kitchen. Polish chocolate wafers I have not seen in many years. Halva !. OMG, halva, both marble and white. I cannot remember the last time I tasted halva. Borscht soup. Jarred Herrings. I honestly felt like a kid again, picking out European goodies in a Polish or Ukrainian shop up north.
Then we sampled the restaurant next door. We ordered a plate of 18 pierogi. My wife tried the chicken ' n potato (which she enjoyed very much). I ordered the plain potato pierogies, fried and smothered with sautéed onions and bacon bits, just like my mom and Baba used to make. The pierogi were soft, tender and wonderful. Definitely made from scratch home-made cooking. I enjoyed every single bite.
I ordered a hot tea. The tea bags are made by STASH lol. I had a choice of six different tea bags.
Both the restaurant and the store featured many foods and dishes which reminded me so much of traditional Polish cooking, of which I loved growing up, and now miss.
However, both the restaurant and store offer variations, also made from scratch or pre-packaged. For example, different spins on pierogi to cover a wide range of tastes.
Whether you reside in Phoenix, or are simply visiting this beautiful city, please stop by this gem in the sun state. If you are of European heritage, ALL PIEROGI will take you on a ride back down memory lane. If you are new to European cuisine, please try ALL PIEROGI. Their menu and retail food items are authentic and delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Tell them Stash sent you, DOBRA!
UPDATE: I prepared the frozen PIEROGI, mentioned above, at home. I heated them the old fashioned way. First cooking them for 10 minutes or so, until all the PIEROGI floated to the top. Afterward, I fried them in a pan with a nice helping of salted butter, until lightly browned. On the side, I prepared some chopped white onion and chopped turkey bacon (my wife no longer eats beef 😣). Lightly frying the bacon, then adding the bacon to the sauté onions, in a good amount of salted butter.
Poured the sauté over the PIEROGI, and one more time I felt like I did back home. My wife also enjoyed the PIEROGI. These were both plain potato and also potato and mushroom. With a dollup of sour cream of...
Read moreI’m writing to express my immense disappointment with your restaurant’s catering for my wedding on February 22, 2025. We placed our order well in advance—about two months before the event—and were told to pay upfront, which we agreed to as we’ve always enjoyed your food in the past. Unfortunately, this experience was anything but enjoyable. When my coordinator arrived to pick up the catering for 45 guests, she was told that our order hadn’t even been made. In fact, you had completely forgotten about it. The rushed, last-minute version of our meal was not only missing several items we had ordered, but the quality of the food was also severely compromised. This error caused a domino effect on the timing of our wedding day, which was already tight, and guests were left hungry for hours. To make matters worse, the food was bland, poorly prepared, and lacked the quality we expected from your restaurant. The tortellini was tasteless, with a noticeable flour flavor. The pierogi were meant to be fried but appeared to be boiled, and the filling was dull. We didn’t receive the potato pancakes we had ordered, but instead a poorly prepared cheese potato casserole that was unappetizing. The roasted potatoes were unbearably salty and practically inedible. We had ordered three trays of each flavor of pierogi, but only received three trays total and it should have been nine trays total. This meant a significant portion of the main course was missing. As a supposed “compensation” for your mistake, you sent us honey cake and cookies that we did not order or need, as we already had desserts planned. Your job was to provide us with the correct dinner, delivered on time—not to replace it with items we didn’t request. The level of service we received was unacceptable. While you gave us a small discount upfront, this was before we actually received the food. Given the substantial impact on our wedding day and the poor quality of the meal, I believe further compensation is warranted. There is no excuse for this failure, and we will never use your catering services again. The experience was incredibly disappointing, and I hope you take this feedback seriously to improve your service in the future. I sent this feedback via email but received no response. I wanted to give the restaurant an opportunity to resolve the issue, but unfortunately, there was no follow-up or effort to address my concerns. This is why I deemed it necessary to write a...
Read moreWe aren't local, but visiting a friend who lives in Tempe and recommended All Pierogi. I love pierogis so I was super excited, and our dinner actually exceeded my expectations. Our server was Ina (not sure if I'm spelling that correctly). She immediately made us feel at home and helped us look over the menu.
We first ordered an appetizer of bread with olive oil. It comes with three house-made dinner rolls, quite nice.
I ordered the cabbage roll and sausage combo platter, which also came with 6 pierogis. I chose the sauerkraut & potato and the potato & cheddar fillings; both were delicious. You can get the pierogis either boiled or pan-fried; Ina recommended pan-fried, which I chose. I got the cabbage roll with beef and mushroom sauce (you can also choose tomato sauce). The beef was practically melt in your mouth, and paired with the mushroom sauce was amazing. The sausage can come plain or smoked, so I took Ina's recommendation of smoked, and it's a nice bratwurst-like sausage. There was also some sauerkraut and caramelized onions, and sour cream for the pierogis. Overall, a lot of food for the platter! I took some home so that I could try the dessert pierogis. For my drink, I got the Kvass. It's described as a fermented rye drink which sounded odd but we all tried it and we all enjoyed it. I would definitely get it again.
My husband got the nine pierogi plate. He's vegetarian so he got the farmer's cheese (cottage cheese) & potato, potato & cheddar, and the sauerkraut & potato. Our friend got the 12 pierogi plate. Both of those come with the caramelized onions and sour cream for the pierogis.
For dessert, I tried the poppyseed roll and we got six dessert pierogis - apple & cinnamon and cherry. It was all quite good, but by this time I was so full I could only have one of each pierogi and I gave one slice of the roll to our friend.
Overall, our experience was great. I truly wish we lived closer or they were out here in Southern California so that we could go often. I would recommend it to anyone for a delicious,...
