An old man with white hair glanced at us as we walked in, without saying hello, or anything akin to a greeting. 5 minutes later he walked yup with not a smile but a scowl on his face and barked, "What did you need??!!!" I was shocked at his rudeness toward me, but told him I called in an order. He said with the same grouchy attitude, "That's gonna be another 15 minutes!!" I said ok. I would've just walked out with that kind of rude and discourteous behavior, but I was already late for a dinner date, so I, along with my son, suffered thru the bad energy of the entire experience. He called out to another patron with friendly voice, "Your order is ready, have a nice day and Merry Xmas!" He waved at the guy with smile as he walked out. 5 minutes later he yelled out harshly, 'YOUR ORDER IS READY!!!!" and walked away. I looked at my son with wide eyes, and my son just shook his head in shock. The lady who took my money was nice tho, the star is for her, otherwise we would give no stars if we could. The pizza looked burned, and there is no CHEESE STRETCH at all, seeing as they hardly put any on. My son said it tastes like a Red Baron frozen pizza. My daughter said she liked the crust. Both said they would not like to eat it again. As for the experience in the restaurant, I have no idea why were treated so differently than the other patrons. Maybe because we are native Americans and the old man is racist? That's the only explanation I can come up with. We were the only brown skinned people out of the restaurant, the other people were treated warmly and with kindness. I was made to feel like I was not welcome, and being barked at like I was not a human being was a horrible episode, and we won't ever go back...
Read moreThis is the epitome of mom and pop business. Built in a little house just north of main street right in the heart of mesa. Proof that the American dream is still going. Their hours are usually limited to an early dinner and they are only open 4 days a week and the ice tea is refillable but the soda comes in cans 1 or 2 at a time. The patio is plastic tables and chairs but its kinda nice in its own way. The parking lot reminded me very much of a Prescott restaurant I went to once. The pizza tho, I had the pepperoni and sausage BBQ pizza--it was pretty good with a fantastic pizza crust. I felt it was a little pricey... but I'm sure that if I checked I'd find quality ingredients and a homemade flare to justify. If you're looking for something unique and off the beaten path; definitely the place. I also noticed that they do a healthy take-out business. Somebody definitely...
Read moreI'm going to say something that you might think sounds a little crazy but, trust me, I know what I'm talking about. I grew up dating Italian girls and spent a lot of time in Italian kitchens eating their food. My wife and I have been to Italy, the motherland of pizza, and tasted it at the source (Venice pizza i better than Roman, don't believe what the Romans claim). So I know pizza. LJ's has, hands down, no contest, the best pizza anywhere in the world. Fantastic tastes that seem to be a dream on your tongue. You will love the pizza here. Nice staff too. We've been eating the LJ's pizza for many years and...
