Papago Brewing Co. — Restaurant in Mesa

Came in today for a quick bite. 1st time (and last). Drove up (noon), thought the place was closed, but pulled on door, and it's open. About 5 customers, one bar keep. Ordered drink and a sandwich. Tried to watch the playoff game, but it was difficult, as music playing, no sound o TVs.and the 3 tvs are mounted about 15' above the bar. We're talking a 60 deg angle. Oh well.

Cook delivered the food rather quickly and it was a good sandwich. But i had no utensils, had to flag down the Bartender, because he sat on his phone at end of bar, head down. Had finished meal and tried to flag Bartender, but no, he was surfing his phone.Had to walk down and tell him to cash me out. My $$ was on the bar, he drops the check and leaves. Once again needed to flag him down to pay. Oblivious!

$20 bill, $30 on the bar, and he asks if I need .change.as if he thinks 50% tip is in order. It was all I could do to put 15% down and leave.

Save yourself the agrivaton and...

1. So dark couldn’t determine if it was open from the outside.
2. Tried to sit down at the mid bar area where two stools were placed. Was told by bartender that couldn’t sit there as was bar access for all patrons…okay??! 3). Same bartender was at register for about 5 min before finished and asked for my order.
3. Had ordered a “pie” (pizza) and cook brought out from kitchen to serve me. Bartender no where in sight. Asked cook for napkins and a set up. Didn’t respond and when bartender returned I had already finished first piece. Asked again for a napkin and set up (didn’t know what the latter was, oh well.). No plate offered so ate off the pizza pan. Too much trouble to ask again for stuff.
4. Loud heavy metal music playing entire visit. Not my taste but oh well!
5. Had great beer selection and pizza was good but have doubts that the food was worth the poor service...

Came in last Saturday for a couple beers before my movie since it's in the same plaza. I've heard of Papago brewing before so I decided to check out a brick an mortar location. It was pretty busy which is always sick to see at a local bar on a weekend! The bartender Conner was super attentive and helped me figure out what I wanted to drink. He asked me what I was into and was pretty spot on with the beers he recommended! For a bar that's a huge plus to me so I was pretty pumped. Ended up getting a couple brews and the second one was as tasty as the first. I recommend the West Coast IPA that was recommended to me. :)

ALSO they have a crazy bottle shop like selection with some cool Hitachino Nest beers which are hard to find and some of my favorites so I was ecstatic. Definitely...
