Poke Fuzion — Restaurant in Mesa

I usually come here all the time, but I will never come back to this location. My partner and I came in earlier today, to get a sushi burrito and a poke bowl. When we were there one of the younger ladies there (who was making my partner’s poke bowl) was sniffling her nose multiple times, and she was preparing his food without gloves. By the time my sushi burrito was made we had already paid and left. When he ate the poke, he started feeling nauseous for the rest of the day and ended up throwing up the poke. I decided to call the restaurant to make a complaint and let them know how one of their employees was sniffling and making my partner’s food without gloves and how he’s sick. I wasn’t expecting a refund or anything in return, I was just trying to voice my concern, because it’s absolutely disgusting to make food for customers without gloves. The lady who picked up the phone sounded very rude and condescending and basically asked me to describe the worker that I was complaining about. When I told her that she was a younger lady, she told me that there was only one Asian lady that worked there who was older, and that it was impossible that the lady I was talking about wasn’t wearing gloves, and how she has allergies, and that’s she not sick. I told her that it’s kind of unfair and unreasonable for her to expect customers (who are concerned about their food being made) to know that their employees have allergies. Especially when they don’t tell you. I also let her know that we did see that she wasn’t wearing gloves, and she basically called me a liar and denied it. I told her that she was being unprofessional and she proceeded to talk over me and say that she was gonna hang up on me. I hung up on her, and here’s my review. Don’t come here unless you want to get disgusting, unsanitary, unprofessional service and be gaslighted by the manager of the store when you have a important complaint, that involves food...

I was recommended Poke Fuzion as a good poke restaurant with decent portion sizes and food. I came in for an early dinner. I ordered the poke bowl. I got white rice, salmon, albacore tuna for my two protein options. I got the eel sauce and the spicy mayo. For toppings I got the red cabbage, mango, ginger, corn, edamame, onions, cucumbers, avocado, onions crisps, sesame seeds, and the spicy crab. Everything in my bowl was really good. The staff gave me my money worth in food! Good portions sizes. Their staff was great with telling me what I could add in my bowl. I also got the taro boba milk tea, it was but I have had better. The restaurant was clean and had enough dining spaces. I will definitely be back! I would like to try...

Whenever I’m craving poke, I intentionally wait it out until I have the chance to come here since their portions/price/quality are unbeatable. They’re always generous with their toppings, and I especially love the finishing dried seasonings and crunchy bits (a definite must-have and they let me do extra too!). Go-to base order half brown rice + greens, double scoop of salmon with the spicy mayo and ponzu. Seriously can eat this every day if I could.

Have only dined in a few times, but the dimmer lighting is a nice contrast to the default stark white lighting other shops have. Vibes are unassuming, casual, and service is always quick. Takeout via online or walk-in never...
