It's really hard to rate the "Shoppes At Gilbert Commons" due to the fact that there are quite a few chain store fronts at this location. Each store should receive it's own review as each one has it's own unique personality. This location is located in an area that is very diverse with ethnicity as well as income levels. Some of the larger retail chain stores at this location include Kohls, The DressBarn, Ross Dress for Less, Lane Bryantt, Ulta Salon, Justice, Old Navy, Staples, Sally's Beauty Supply Petco, Forever Diamonds and TJ Maxx. With such a wide variety of shops comes a wide variety of people. Most of the stores are rather busy at peak hours and the wait time to check out can be somewhat lengthy, especially during holiday season. While there is a lot of parking, it can still be daunting at times to find that "good spot". I have never experienced any real issues at any of these stores and I have shopped at all of them. I would have to say Ross has the poorest customer service of all of these stores and usually has the longest lines. While all of the stores have decent return policies, some only give you a 30 day window for returns or exchanges. In my opinion, Kohl's offers the best "no hassle" return policy. Kohl's also has no limits on the number of items you can take into a fitting room (I feel sorry for the employees who have to put all those things back) while Ross has a limit of 8 and TJ Maxx I believe has a limit of 6. I don't think DressBarn has a limit but they also will set up a fitting room in advance for you so they can easily monitor what you are trying on. I have lived in this area for 30+ years now and can honestly say I do enjoy shopping at these stores because of the location and the wide variety on selection and prices these stores offer. Operating hours differ for each store. Kohl's is open I believe 24 hours a day during the holiday season after a certain date but not positive on this. I also feel mostly safe if I am out shopping alone during the evening hours but it is always smart to take someone with you if you will be out late! ...
Read moreWow. Customer service like this is exemplary and hard to find in this day and age! In september, I bought walking shoes for a trip to Europe. The very best shoes for people that walk, travel or just want to be comfortable are right in Scottsdale! Aaron is the best Mephisto independent owner I've met, Aaron was an exceptional salesman and worked with me, and my orthotics, to find the right type of shoe. Unfortunately I got blisters and had trouble wearing them through the rest of the trip. Upon return home I spoke with Aaron and he graciously offered to take them back and gave me a store credit. I was not expecting anything but just wanted to let him know I was not as happy after the purchase. He has made me very happy now and a customer for life. Store: The standard smallish shoe store. Obviously only vending Mephisto. Carries what appear to be nearly the entire Mephisto line in both men's and woman's. Parking is plenty. Summary: Definitely the place to go to for your Mephistos. Beats going to Nordstroms, where you might get a slightly better price but definitely not the individual attention nor a sales rep that know the shoes as well as Aaron. I Highly recommend this store for great products ,excellent customer service, and...
Read morePower center with many store options, so I love that I can get a lot of things here in one visit. Ross and the combined TJ Maxx/Home Goods make this shopping center a great place for "treasure hunting" and finding nice stuff at affordable prices. Be prepared to wait in really long lines at TJ Maxx/Home Goods, however, because who doesn't love good prices on good stuff? The Ross here is about as chaotic and cluttered as any other location, but the employees are polite and the prices make it worth the unpleasantness. Kohl's is a regular department store that's pricey with plenty of things, but it especially comes in handy for Amazon returns. Then you've got Staples for when you need a copy and print center as well as overpriced pens and paper. Plus Gilbert Commons has many other stores/businesses too, like Jason's Deli, one of the very few restaurants left with a salad bar. It's a good strip mall overall, and I definitely recommend it for the times when you don't plan on buying...
