1955 S Stapley Dr, Mesa, AZ 85204
After 21 years with Verizon, my husband and I decided we no longer were willing and able to continue making the high payments for our cell phone service. He found an ad in our AARP magazine and off I went to Consumer Cellular at Stapley and the 60 in Mesa. My wait was brief and the Store Manager, Savannah, greeted me with a lovely smile and a very positive attitude. She was able to switch our service over on my phone with no trouble. My husband's phone was from 2018 and was not compatible with their service. Since he rarely uses it, and he did not care about getting the larger smart phones that are out there, she showed me their flip phone. It looked perfect for his needs and the price was definitely right; plus, since I was purchasing it due to the incompatibility of his current phone with their service, she automatically gave me a $25 discount. Can you imagine getting a brand new phone for $47.00? We both were able to keep our same phone numbers and I didn't even have to go to Verizon to cancel our service. . . Savannah was able to, with my permission, access a port which allowed her to cancel our old service and begin our new service instantaneously. Two other employees in the store at the time, Celeste and Rene, were instrumental in helping Savannah to test that the new service was in working order for both receiving new calls and making calls out. The last thing I needed, was to begin internet service (when wi-fi is not available) on my husband's tablet. Rather than transfer this service, a new number was provided and now my husband is happy--which means so am I. The cost of our new service for two cell lines and one tablet account, is less than half of what we were paying--and we still have unlimited talk and text, plus 5G of data. If we find we need additional data (doubtful) Consumer Cellular will automatically bump us up to 10G per month for a mere $5 more. WHAT A DEAL!! THANK YOU, Savannah, Celeste and Rene, for your competence, your teamwork, and your positive attitudes... and thank you, Consumer Cellular. We've now had our new service for more than a week--and we...
Read moreIt's close to five stars, but they've had a bit of a turnover and that causes some inconvenience. The whole plaza also faces the western sun, which makes it extremely hot in the summer here. One kind of neat thing about that, though, is that after an hour of shopping in the beautiful 68°of Walmart, I step outside and the blistering 110° sunshine bites my skin and for about three seconds, that feels really nice.
So for the 4 stars that this plaza does earn, there's a lot here. Restaurants, a movie theater, Walmart, other shops and things to do, and now, I'm so excited to see, a Dollar Tree is coming! I mean, okay, the Party City left, but there's always some sort of trade-off.
The plaza used to be better for one-stop shopping than it is now, but several of the important stores have closed.
Nevertheless, my favorite part of Mesa Grand isn't the shopping. It's the walking path that I now call my own. Not every time, but often enough, when I need something at Walmart, I park all the way to the north of the plaza, next to the freeway, and walk down and back. It gives me almost an hour of walking time and it's shady in the mornings. There are lots of potted flowers, and the restaurants are getting their meal prep done so it smells good, and they play nice music. It's a wonderful place to get my walking done and run an errand at...
Read moreThis is a large strip mall type setting that includes stores such as Wal Mart, Conn's, Office Max, Bath and Body Works, PetsMart, Michaels, and an AMC movie theater. There are several smaller store fronts and eateries. Located outside the strip mall there are chain restaurants such as Chili's, Texas Roadhouse, and a few others that I can't remember the names of. The Wal Mart is somewhat run down do to the patrons that shop there. I live nearby and refuse to patron the store because of the other patrons and due to the staff being so rude and unfriendly. There is always a wait to check out and when you need help you can never find anyone who is happy to do so! The Michael's is new so the store is clean and the staff is still friendly and willing to help. The parking at Wal Mart is always crowded and parking lot itself could use some repairs. Getting out of the parking lot and turning left on to Stapely can take a while as the light there has a long cycle and there are usually quite a few cars trying to exit. Ten years ago my review would have been better but the neighborhood has gone down hill so fast that I no longer feel safe going to Wal Mart,...
