Don't think I'll go back. :/ first, three of my friends and I went in and it's real small, similar to a little "beto's" or "filiberto's" type place, except you sit down and they wait on you. Well..... We ordered drinks and all of us got the pupusas platters. The first three bites were great, tasted like enchiladas sorta, up until I saw I thick wiry black hair baked in with the cheese. Oh boy. They said they'd remake it for me. We waited awhile (25-30 minutes) and never got a refill on our drinks. Not even after they brought back my new plate which I had to immediately pack up to take home because it had taken almost an hour at this point and I was going to be late to a function ( I believe they make everything as it's ordered, which is probably why it takes so long, which I wouldn't mind at all if service was a little better... And if there were no hair LOL) Ok so we leave, I put my food in the fridge to eat later because I was late now. This morning I heated it all up, it looked delicious and smelled amazing! I ate each bite carefully inspecting haha :) no hair in my pupusas thank God. BUT...... And I'm not even kidding you here...... I was eating my refried black beans and I found not one, not two, but THREE new hairs in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Short dark colored hairs. My hair is pretty long, two of my friends with me were blonde, my other friend had long black hair..... This could not have been any of ours. The papusas were good, but I'm scarred by this hairy situation and I can't bring myself...
Read moreThis place definitely delivers a unique experience. I have actually never had Salvadoran food before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I had the arroz de Valencia with a papusa and a plantain empanada for dessert as that seemed to be particularly unique to allow me to fully experience Salvadoran cuisine. Needless to say, it was very satisfying and the papusa was particularly delicious, satisfying and unique. The beans overwhelmed the squash, but with how impressive the beans were, I have no complaints. For the main dish, the rice and shrimp were cooked to perfection, well-portioned at a very good value. I could take or leave the empanada as it wasn't the traditional empanada that I was expecting and it was overloaded with sugar, but I'm glad to have tried it. The service treated us as a friend that accomodated all my needs and desires despite the crowd instead of being disgruntled with my concerns and just seeking my money, which I vastly appreciated. Overall, my first experience of Salvadoran cuisine surpassed my expectations and I hope to be able to have another tasty, relaxing and...
Read moreOctober 2 I was there and ordered a few items. A few minutes later an employee with the name Enrique came to tell me that they didn't have the beef pastelitos. I requested a refund for the pastelitos, however he instead cancelled the whole transaction but never actually happened. I paid with a different credit card and until this day, I haven't received the refund for $92.50 from Amex. I was told by a woman who was in charge that day named Gloria, that owner had instructed them not to give money back to anyone (despite food was paid with a different credit card )? When I opened my package at home I was surprised that my chicken tamales were missing too!! I have an open dispute with Amex for a month waiting to hear the final resolution. Amex sent the owner all the ocuments for his review, but it seems he's taking his time or ignoring the situation. At the end I paid twice for 15 pupusas plus 3 tamales that never received. Customers be aware of this type of behaviors. This is...
