Salvadoreno Restaurant #1- Pupusas — Restaurant in Mesa

The place is easy to find I don't leave near but I was near I was looking for a good place to eat and found this place had good reviews about pupusas I love them well we got there my 2 toddlers and I and was hoping there wasn't too many people in there cause you know kids!! We went in there and stood there for like a minute didn't know if I just sit down or wait to order right there till this lady came from the back she was nice told us to sit and she brought the menus with her as we sat ourselves she told us she was gonna be back to take our order but she took like fifteen minutes and my kids were starting to be anxious so I waited when she came she told me she had forgotten we were there so I said ok I kept my cool we ordered and I asked her if the food was gonna take long she said no so it took like an other 15-20 minutes anyway the pupusas were good no t great there was a fly near us there were 3 other tables besides us and my coke was not cold I couldn't even drink half I ordered the combo which had 2 pupusas rice and beans I didn't like the rice it was undercooked everything else was ok. So I was very let down by the service of this restaurant, the food was decent at best and over priced. So we order our food and after 40 minutes I ask my waitress "where my foods at it's been 40 minutes?" (Keep in mind we are the only customers in the restaurant) I get an excuse and shortly after our food comes out. My food looks fine but it's not exactly what I ordered but I'm not sending it back.. My mom's pupusas are slapped together and are a mess on the plate to the point you can even pick them up without it falling apart. The food is decent but the dipping sauce taste like someone took a gallon of water and added 1 taco bell sauce packet. I can look past the 40 minutes but the fact they slap together my mom's food is unacceptable and very unprofessional. So needless to say I will not be eating here again nor would I recommend, there is far too much competition in the area that I would not waste my time or my money...

Food was great service wasn’t. When we arrived, it was not busy at all. I got a agua and I really didn’t like it, so I asked the server if I could change it and she said I would still get charged for all the drinks which was fine with me I wasn’t going to argue. I then order a appetizer and entrée.. 40 mins later I get my main meal.. and we didn’t have utensils or napkins, waiting and additional 15 min for those. then 20 mins after we got our entree we got the appetizer. I mentioned it to the server about how it was late and she just smiled and left. Also, the main sauce that comes with the appetizer, they didn’t have any more left. The food is good but not sure if I’d ever dine in again, maybe take out. Hopefully for the future they learn to apologize and warn people about the wait. Especially since it is...
