OYO Hotel Mesa AZ Downtown East — Hotel in Mesa

Yet another dive of a hotel, in the low class city of Mesa, Arizona.

It was actually not bad inside the hotel room. It was up to date regarding the TV, air conditioning, etc. Nice thick pillows! No refrigerator though!

The problem I have with the hotel, is how rude & uncaring the manager was. We were moving at the time, & I didn't get to sleep until very late. I asked the manager if he could please allow my wife & I to checkout another hour past there checkout time. We were exhausted from the moving process, & just another hour or two of sleep would have helped SO MUCH. We are senior citizens with health issues.

I don't understand or like today's world. Most people aren't as kind & compassionate, as they were in the 60's & 70's. I miss it!!

The majority of hotel/motel owners are from "other countries," & most treat Americans like were a pile of garbage. I have a big problem with this behavior. There businesses are here in America, & we keep them alive & financially well off, with our business. Geez, you're earning a good living here...please start being being a little more grateful for our business/money.

A little kindness & compassion would go A VERY LONG WAY when a guest is exhausted, not in very good health anymore...& could REALLY use just 1 or 2 more hours sleeping so they can get through their day a lot better. It's not asking TOO MUCH to be compassionate.

I’m gonna start with the ONLY good thing I have to say about this establishment and it’s staff. Michael and Kristi are EXCELLENT !!!!!! They in my opinion are way to good for this substandard low quality business! I rented for two nights, I HAD NO HOT WATER FOR THE TWO DAYS I STAYED!!!! On a room I paid money to be in. 😡😡😡😡😡 When I came back on my second night and went to the office to tell them I AGAIN HAD NO HOT WATER I was told by Cameron “that’s not my problem” Cameron SHOULD NOT HAVE A JOB!! are you serious!😡 So I go down in the morning and I go in SALINA (who could not even bother to look up from her computer ) didn’t say hi nothing I explained to her I had been here two days with no hot water and I needed to take a shower made a face and said “ok I’ll tell them” I waited as she did not even look up from her computer to ask what room or for her to offer an empty room for me to shower inI ,i got no offer of another room and I’m still waiting for her to ask what room I was in so she could “tell them”! The disrespect of this SALINA and the total lack of ANY-KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AND THE FACT THAT SHE WAS SNOTTY AND OFFERED NOTHING TO FIX THE ISSUE !!WHEN YOU SURLY TOOK MY MONEY IS DISGUSTING AND TOTAL BULL##!!!!!!!!!! SALINA SHOULD MOST DEFIANTLY NOT HAVE A JOB MUCH LESS HAVE A JOB DEALING WITH PEOPLE!!! AGAIN YOUR ONLY SAVING GRACE IN THIS PLACE ARE MICHAEL AND KRISTI, I will be calling the manager tomorrow morning and letting her know about her very sorry excuse for employees!!!!!!!

I was not offered to be moved, was not offered a room that had hot water...

The people at the front desk were pretty nice and the place was cheap, but honestly it should’ve been cheaper for what I got. My sheets had 2 pretty large stains on them, the lights outside were ALL flickering, and the floors were all dirty and made my feet black from walking barefoot. I also checked the mattress to ensure there weren’t bedbugs because I saw an exterminator outside my window, and the mattress was COVERED in holes. They had fixed up an old motel 6, but the fixes were all incredibly cheap and were already showing signs of major wear. There were bad patch jobs all over the wall and one of my lamp shades were missing? The parking spots were also a little weird and every few spots the parking curbs were really far forward, so it kind of damaged the underside of my car because i was trying to line up with the curb next to the spot which gave me the wrong sense of where to stop. It wasn’t a huge amount of damage for the car I have, but if you have a lower car then mine it would probably be a bigger deal. I actually ended up just leaving to stay the night with a friend because one of the other guests wouldn’t stop staring at me the one time I left my room and then he kinda went and looked at my door number which made me...
