"Elixis" the cashier brought her own star to the game.
The food is what you'd expect. Nobody believes this is the finest burritos in the land. It's hit or miss sometimes just like every other chain. This time, it wasn't mind-blowingly great, but it also wasn't and almost never is, totally upsetting. That last part matters a great deal when the money is less and more important. It's fast food for very reasonable prices folks, not white-capped chefs and towel-armed waiters.
What you need to know is this: The girl at the register was trying her best and you could see it on her face. There was of course, the average other teenage employees who shuffled their feet a bit, sure. Absolutely nobody was doing cartwheels singing, "Live Mas Amigo, try our new Quesarito!" But we're not expecting them to be weirdly smiling robots just mindlessly, enthusiastically working for minimum wage. A smile goes very far in any interaction let alone customer service, but not being rude and doing their job "reasonably" efficient is the minimum threshold. And everyone there had that part down.
Elixis (I hope is correct) maybe didn't have the energy or more accurately, the hectic runaround behavior of fire dousing you'd expect. Maybe she was a little uncomfortable and appeared to be reactionary. That's only from a lack of experience and totally natural to the many moving parts of a restaurant. Her heart was there. She may not have dreams of being in management or keep every hot sauce quote on her wall like some fanatic psychopath, but she did care enough about our transactional interaction, and then some. This employee was very courteous, smiled, was apologetic, and even quite literally doing what she could to assist in other areas on top of her duties. I'm in no way saying this experience and the normally-outstanding-but-not-da-best-today grilled cheese burrito changed my life. But I do hope it does change hers somehow, because she is why this restaurant gets 4 and not 3 stars.
This place is often busy and so expect that. Maybe partly due to location and partly due to the congested traffic setup, there seems to always be a line. However, they are reasonably quick and employees like Elixis show that they are trying both individually and as a whole. Management may want to consider increasing the staff. There is an issue with trying to make wages more competitive vs inflation etc, but this company has been the first a few times, so maybe they can crack the code or at least squeeze a little more juice out and find a way to retain talent. If all the employees from cashier to CEO were like this girl, it'd surprisingly, in a comedic twist, make Taco Bell of all places... A...
Read moreI went through the drive thru and ordered my food. I parked my car and checked my order it was wrong so I drove back to the store and talked to Noah. He was very unprofessional and aggressive. He started demanding my receipt. I didn't have it so he said he would look up my order. James (the drive thru person)admitted he put in my order wrong. Noah started remaking my order. I could hear him saying, oh she just wants free food and she doesn't have her receipt. Thats when I went to my car to look for my receipt. I couldn't find it so I went back inside the store and told James & Noah I wasn't given a receipt. That's when James found my receipt at his register. James never gave me my receipt. Noah got upset when I stated that James didn't give me my receipt. Thats when he slammed my order in the trash and said I'm not giving you a refund. He said I'll call the police and get you trespassed because I'm not gonna argue with you. You can leave my store. So he was on the phone with the police and lied about what actually happened. I didnt get my food or refund. I have called corporate and the district office. Noah's attitude and actions are completely...
Read morei was the only one in the drive thru when i was greeted once by an employee. i had asked for a brief moment to look over the menu, less than a minute went by and i was ready. i had asked the employee if they were ready and it was silent. i waited for 5 minutes for MICHAELA the taco bell employee to take my order and that never happened. i had decided to drive up to the window thinking they might’ve thought i wasn’t there anymore. right as i pulled up MICHAELA decided to slam open the drive thru window and immediately start yelling at me. she had told me i ignored her three times when she asked if i was ready (that never happened) and proceeded to tell me to either take my business elsewhere or wait my turn to have my order taken. she then slammed the drive thru door shut and proceeded to take the car behind me who was also waiting 5 plus minutes for her to take my order. that is nasty customer service and MICHAELA need to find a job where she doesn’t work customer service. she was disrespectful, nasty , and miserable to treat a...
