The Taco Spot in Chandler was the first place I ever had birria. When I heard they were opening up this location, which could be considered closer to my house maybe? I was kind of excited because I spent a lot of time in this area.
I am very fond of the birria ramen, and birria burrito. I love that they have cash app rewards, I got $5 off our dinner last night! 1 birria burrito usually lasts me two to three meals, and I am sitting here eating some for breakfast while I write this review. The food is always amazing, the consommé is very flavorful, and the people are usually pretty nice.
My only beef--pun intended--is that you have to pay for the consommé separately. I feel like if you're buying a birria burrito, the consommé should come with it. You can get a three taco combo with consommé, but no burrito combo. I think they sell the consommé separately because a lot of people get the birria ramen with tacos, and, of course, the birria ramen has consommé in it. But I'd appreciate a little combo that offers a better price for the burrito and consommé together.
All told though, this is my favorite play in the valley to get tacos and since they're now all over the valley, I know I can get tacos no matter what I'm doing. I'd really like to see a location in San Tan...
Read moreThere's a mexican restaurant in Cali that makes a fabulous burrito that I love. It has ground beef, beans, rice & lettuce inside and is covered in a red sauce & cheese on the outside. Although Tosinos does not offer this burrito on their menu they were happy to recreate it for me so they started with the ground beef burrito that is on the menu and added the rest of the items at additional charge. This was my first visit to the restaurant so I was impressed that they were so accommodating. In addition to the burrito I also ordered chips & guacamole.
The only downside I can say to both of these items is that both contained an incredibly high level of salt, which I found unusual for guacamole but not so much for the ground beef. I also found it interesting that the guacamole was soupy and not thick the way most restaurants serve it, especially now when avocados are so cheap. Other than for those 2 issues I was happy with my meal. The burrito was gargantuan in size and held up well for 2 meals. I felt it was a good value for the price, however, I can't say that for the guacamole and don't think I will be ordering it again. Nonetheless, I will return to Tosinos again to try other items on their menu. I have my eye on the chili relleno & fish/shrimp...
Read moreI would like to take the time to share my negative experience i had at Tosinos... I placed an order through uber eats which one of my items included a carne asada torta. I got my order and instead of the torta i got two carne asada tacos. I called Tosinos, i advised of the issue and the lady that answered said the order only said carne asada, therefore, their assumption was to provide carne asada tacos. The lady also said this happens when placing uber eats ordered and has the option to call customer before preparing the meal but said customers never answer therefore did not call me. I proceeded to asking if theres a price difference in what i paid for (carne asada torta) versus what i got (two carne asada tacos). The lady said yes, i asked how i can get my refund. She said i would have to do it through uber eats and if done they will decline any future uber eats order from me... There was clearly no solution from their end. The lady I spoke to was extremely rude and combative and lacked serious customer service skills. I was looking forward to trying this place but was seriously disappointed. Like i told the lady, I will never place an order from them again. I would rather support businesses like Los Favoritos where the food and service is...
