I first came here during a weekday afternoon. The vibe was really relaxed and calm and I loved it. I got a pumpkin coffee and a pumpkin muffin. The muffin was warm and the coffee latte was excellent. Then I came again on a weekend morning and didn’t have quite the same amazing experience. Granted, they were extremely busy. This time I got a mocha latte and a cinnamon roll. The mocha latte just didn’t do it for me. And I thought the cinnamon roll would’ve been served warm, since my pumpkin muffin was the last time I was there, but it was cold and very hard. I tried to eat it but figured I would enjoy it much better if it was warmed up. So I asked the barista behind the counter to warm it up and it didn’t quite do the trick- I think she warmed it up for a minute, then by the time I got it back it was already cold again. Overall this is a cute coffee shop and has a really good vibe to it. The staff was very friendly both times. I may give it a try again, but most likely won’t be going on a weekend morning...
Read moreAlthough I don't drink Coffee or Tea, what I really like about this place is that they offer Italian Sodas with cream! Starbucks no longer offers these, at least where I'm at. And I haven't found any other place that offers Italian Sodas. Now, this place from the outside appears to be a shack, BUT it's not. That's part of it's ambiance. I'll be coming back soon for another raspberry Italian Soda (even though I really shouldn't be drinking them; BUT I love those things). Now, if the bean can figure out a completely sugar-free one with all of the taste of the original ones. Then this WILL BE my go to place permanently when I'm in Las Cruces, NM. To be honest it's that way now. Only difference will be me making a trip to Las Cruces specifically for just those Italian Sodas, not just when...
Read moreA very unfortunate experience at a place we used to like.
We were out walking this morning and decided to stop by the Bean for breakfast. We are supportive of the mask mandate but did not have masks with us. The restaurant does NOT have masks to accommodate customers who forgot to bring one. This is very bad business in a world where we need to work together and where businesses need to help their customers. Then I ordered a "dry cappuccino." I got a cup filled to the brim with hot milk (i.e., a latte) and a spoonful of foam. Apparently, the barista had no training and the customer service was terrible. There are other good places to get coffee in Old Mesilla, and The Bean has clearly not maintained its efforts toward customer service or a...
