Found this place on Google maps while driving back to Las Vegas. The pictures and reviews looked good. Wanted something quick and easy. This place delivered on both. Let's start with the good. The Food was excellent. Hot and so fresh. The restaurant was clean, and so were the bathrooms. We got the Lengua (beef tongue) street tacos. They came with a side of chips with refried beans on top. These were amazing. The meat was tender and flavorful. We also got the chicken Rolled tacos. They were very good too, not dried out like others that we've had. We also wanted a side of rice and beans... This is where our issue was. On the menu, it said $1 to add rice and $1 to add beans. However, after receiving the bill, we were charged $3.25 for rice and another $3.25 for beans. When we asked the girl about the overcharge, her answer was that it was an old menu. We noticed it said 1/2 pint of each, which was more than what we were wanting. We just wanted a small side of each. I will say the rice was a little dry and lacked flavor. But the beans were awesome! The other nice thing they offered was a small salsa bar with 2 salsa options (both delicious), limes, and some amazing pickled carrots. I wish we had bought a giant container of those carrots. They were so good with the right amount of spice. If we are passing through and are looking for some good fast (they also have a drive thru) mexican food, we will...
Read moreFeliz Quinto de Mayo! Was determined to dine al sur de la frontera. Found an authentic Mexican takeout last night. Pancho's Taco Shop, a small hole-in-the-wall at the end of a strip mall across the highway from Walmart, but there are always vehicles in the drive through behind the three or four strip stores so I queued up. The ordering station was no slick corporate come on, it was a busy display of amateurish yet authentic photos of breakfast, lunch and dinner fare. The combos don't feature branded soft drinks, instead show the standard spiced rice and cheesy refried bean accompaniments to a featured entree. My toes are sweating just thinking of their homemade hot sauce. Ate a meal-by-itself bean tostada first, then as the main event, a chicken chimichanga combo which was stuffed with white and dark shredded chicken. I yearn to revisit to sample the carnitas or camarones. Still have quesadilla and two beef tacos for...
Read moreI ordered the 2 chicken enchilada combo plate, and even though I had ordered it many times before they had no clue and there was a big debate when I got to the window to pay. They tried to charge me $30 for 1 combo and 2 orders of chips. Then I repeated my order for the 3rd time to a different person and he nodded like he understood.I received my order and it was a styrofoam container filled with 90% lettuce and sauce and a sprinkle of cheese. I bring it back and "the manager" takes a fork and digs through all the rabbit food and proceeds to explain to me the cook didn't understand enchiladas were wrapped in tortillas and just randomly threw a teaspoon of chicken in the mix!! They fixed my order and it didn't taste right and the next morning I was hit with Montezuma's revenge! If I could give zero stars I would. How dare I think a mexican restaurant would know what an enchilada was! POOR POOR SERVICE AND...
