Porky’s Burgers & Wings — Restaurant in Mesquite

We had a pretty great experience here a week ago, and so we excitedly returned today when we were in the area again. They were oddly busy for it being after 1 PM on a Monday, but we went ahead and ordered anyway. I have no idea what happened, but it took 25 minutes from the time we ordered until we got our food. When we were there previously, it was only slightly less busy and it took less than 10 minutes for us to get our food.

As if having an almost 30 minute wait at a fast food place wasn't bad enough, the fries were barely warm and very stale when we got them. The bun on the junior burger was also incredibly dry, and the burger wasn't fresh and hot tasting like it was when we'd been there previously. It honestly felt like our food had been sitting in the back, forgotten, as only a few minutes before they finally brought it out, I had gone up to inquire why it had been over 20 minutes since we ordered and still didn't have our food and was assured ours would be out next. Even though other people who ordered after us had already gotten their food. Because of the unexpectedly and ridiculously long wait, we barely had time to eat, and definitely didn't have time to complain or wait around for them to remake our food.

If this was our first visit, I would have rated them one star. But because we did have a previous positive experience, I'm adding another star. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience, and I don't know if we'll bother giving them another chance because I don't know which visit was actually representative of their typical...

So I went to have a lunch date with my daughter at this location that I had previously seen posted on a Facebook group. They have been open for about a week I believe. The location is very easy to get to other then the construction in the area that is currently going on. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a smile and felt welcome. Our cashier was very friendly and offered a menu of all the items they had so we could look it over. Definitely a hard decision as everything on the menu looked very delicious. I ended up going with the Bacon, Egg Cheeseburger with a side of fries and a drink. My daughter had the Corny Dog Bits basket (6count) with fries and a drink. They have a tea fountain with 4 different tea options which for me is a ➕ being that I love sweet tea, and we are in Texas! The food was really delicious and full of flavor. I also tried the corny bits and loved them as well. The fries for the Kids basket were seasoned and really good. The cheeseburger I had was definitely filled with fresh cut vegetables a fresh patty and crispy bacon! The portion of fries in my combo were the perfect amount. Stopped at this little gem for the first time and I can’t say enough good things about it. I got there right at 11:00 a.m. when they opened and there were already two cars waiting in the parking lot for them to open. The girl who took my order was super friendly. They have four different types of tea which was a bonus to me - I love iced tea! They have about 20 different burgers to choose from and they all look amazing. I got the mushroom burger and it was possibly the best burger I ever had. You can also choose light mayo on any burger if you’re counting calories/fat grams (which again was a bonus - most burger places don’t give you that option). The fries are fresh with skin left on - cut from actual potatoes - not frozen. They were seasoned and cooked perfectly. It took about 10 minutes for my order to be ready even though they had just opened. And the burger, fries and drink combo cost less than $10 walking out the door. Did I mention the burger is huge?
