This place was great! I was visiting from North Carolina driving around 9pm and was trying to find somewhere decent to eat. Tuckers had great reviews and ratings so I decided to give it a try. Yes it's connected to a gas station but that doesn't bother me because iv been to a couple of great eating establishments that were great and not so nice on the oustide. I got the steak tacos with the rice and beans, my friend got 2 chicken tacos and other friend got the chicken quessadilla. They were all great. Tacos came with onions and cilantro which is the way I prefer my AUTHENTIC Mexican tacos. You go the choice of flour or corn tortillas which is not typical for most places. I love corn tortillas myself. I had some of the quessadilla as well as my tacos and that was very good as well which came with crema which is another nice AUTHENTIC touch. I will warm you the green salsa in the bottle was fairly spicy so the red must have been deadly! But the food would be great without the salsa as well. I just like green salsa with my tacos so I just did a few drops in them as well as on the rice and beans. The guy at the front who helped us was super nice and helpful! We took a few minutes to actually order because we had never eaten there before and he didn't rush us at all! So yes, 5 STARS for this great place for excellent tasting food and customer service. The gentleman even broght our food to the table. It may not look like much from the outside but I think we can all agree it's what's on the inside that really counts
Read moreAbsolutely great! Went with my wife, daughter and mother in law. We tried their meatball sub, philly cheese steak, and fried cat fish. The philly was very good, and huge! I could only eat half of it, I saved the rest. My wife had the meatball sub and I tried a bite. The seasoning in the sauce made me think of Italy. It's hard to mess up a meatball sub, they definiteiy did not mess it up, and in my opinion, gave it some extra flare with the seasoning. But the star of the show, by far, was the catfish! I'm not a fan of catfish, I think it tastes too.... fishy (if that makes sense?), but their catfish was perfect! The batter and spice they added made me super jealous.
One person got fries and two got hush puppies. The fries were fine. Tasted like they were frozen, but what can you expect? They were acceptable. The hush puppies were great! They tasted homemade, some of them had full pieces of corn in them, I would come back for just the hush puppies!
We got chocolate filled churros that seemed a bit pricey when I bought a half dozen.... When they came out, my opinion shifted. They are massive! Roughly 10 inches long, they had chocolate filled through the whole thing, and they were great! We had one each and took the rest home.
The service was very good. The guy at the counter gave great advice on what he thought was good. What I think was the owner came out and asked us about our food. We explained to him we did not get the sides we were supposed to, and without a second thought fixed the issue. Everyone was super nice!
I will be coming back here again, and I recommend you to...
Read moreThe customer service here is horrible if you are not a Hispanic person. The people are rude. From the cashiers to the cooks. I met the owner and his son. They are cool, but the other workers are rude. The first time I went, I think they were close to closing, but I walked in the door and there was a lady mopping, and I asked if they were still open and she said yes, but we don’t have any fried chicken wings. I said I did not want fried chicken wings. I wanted some tacos. (I’m an African American woman). I decided not to take offense and gave them a try. The customer service was despicable and they charge an additional fee. If you do not know about this fee, they will not tell you about it. They are money hungry. I noticed that they are nice to Hispanics/Spanish speakers and give different service to non-Hispanic customers. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and no one was in the store when I ordered. I waited and waited for my order other customers came and their food was served first, once my food was ready. The bread on the Philly cheesesteak was burned. I said I do not want burnt bread. Would you eat this? The cashier said that I would need to take the issue up with her supervisor as she continued to take orders next to the register, she then went to the kitchen and told the cooks that I did not want it and then she gave me a refund. I have only enjoyed my time eating here when the owners are there like I said, if you are not Hispanic, you will be mistreated. They deserve zero stars and I hope they get over their greed because it is not...
