On Friday, we were in the mood for a spicy evening snack, something to kick off the weekend with a burst of flavor. After some deliberation, we decided to try out Tribos Peri Peri, a spot known for its vibrant and zesty offerings. We were eager to sample their menu, hoping it would live up to its spicy reputation. We started with the jalapeno poppers, which were an absolute treat. These were perfectly crispy on the outside and stuffed with a creamy, spicy filling that was further enhanced by a tangy sauce. The balance of heat and tanginess was just right, making each bite delightful. Next, we tried the peri peri fries, which were seasoned to perfection. The fries were crispy, and the peri peri seasoning added a robust, smoky heat that kept us reaching for more. Alongside this, we had the peri mayo corn, a surprisingly delicious combination. The sweetness of the corn paired beautifully with the creamy, spicy peri mayo, making it a unique and satisfying snack. We also ordered the paneer burger, which was a substantial and flavorful choice. The paneer was well-marinated and grilled to a succulent texture, complemented by fresh veggies and a spicy sauce that tied everything together. However, the highlight for me was the veggie pita wrap. It was bursting with flavors – juicy, tangy, and cheesy, wrapped in a soft pita. The ingredients were fresh and perfectly balanced, making it a standout item on the menu. The ambience of Tribos Peri Peri is quite casual, with a typical café vibe. It’s not particularly fancy, but it's comfortable and laid-back, which suits the fast-food style dining experience. Overall, Tribos Peri Peri is a great place for a quick and tasty snack. Whether you're in the mood for wraps, sandwiches, or something fried and spicy, this place delivers on flavor and variety. It’s definitely worth a visit for anyone craving a flavorful and satisfying fast food fix.

Recommend: fries, falafel, lamb chops Good: chicken Ok: tribos rice, peri mayo corn Seriously the fries are so good. I think this is where I'm going for my fries craving in the future, crispy and fluffy, they are perfection. I really liked the falafel, but it might be a little undercooked and crumbly. The lamb is good but it can be a bit difficult to get off the bone. The chicken was good but you need the sauce because there is no seasoning other than the sauce so the inside pieces are bland. It was slightly overcooked in my opinion but not terribly so. Rice had good texture so the cook was good but the flavor was not my thing. Mayo corn was heavy on the mayo and not particularly flavorful. Service was pretty scarce and the wait seem pretty long considering there was only one unserved table when we were seated and the appetizer didn't come out before the entrees. Hot is 8/10 spicy Medium is 4/10 spicy Mild is 2/10 spicy

I’ve been a die hard Tribos fan for a while now so when I heard there was a location opening in Metuchen I was over the moon! The service here far exceeds the other locations. They are a full service restaurant which I was thankful for. Totally elevated the whole Tribos experience. I don’t think I’ll be going back to Saddle Brook. The people here actually seemed to enjoy their jobs and were quite pleasant. The food was amazing! We were a party of 7 and ordered the Tribal feast with wings on the side. Highly, highly recommend the lamb chops! I was surprised with the size of the chops which were larger than the usual lamb chops I’ve had at other restaurants. Our fried wings were bursting with flavor as well. We got them with peri Mayo and bbq sauce which you cannot miss out on! So happy with our experience here! The owners even came out to ensure we were happy with our food. Will definitely come back!

Hands down one of the best Peri Peri spots I've been to.

The sauces, the seasoning, and the quality of the meat used here was top notch. I've been to places where the sauces are so watery and just overwhelmingly spicy that all other flavor notes are drowned out. At this Tribos location, you can tell the difference between the sauces and enjoy the flavor and texture whether it's tangy, spicy, or mild and creamy.

For sides, I would highly recommend the peri peri corn. Comes in a shareable bowl (good for 2-3 ppl). It was my favorite side dish. The peri peri fries were good too if you like crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside kind of fries.

For entrees, my friends enjoyed the lamb chops quite a lot, though I personally prefer simpler seasoning on chops. If you're a die hard fan of peri peri sauces on everything, you'll love the chops! The whole chicken and wings were seasoned well inside and the meat itself was juicy (which I find to be rare at peri peri spots.. most places bank on the sauce to overwhelm the meat)

The service was great. You can tell the chef and staff really care about the food. I went with a big group of (needy) friends and our host still patiently took his time explaining what's popular on the menu and even what combination sauces we should try.

Great addition to the neighborhood; highly recommend...
