I recently visited Hook Fish and Chicken, and sadly, it was a disappointing experience. The food was both overcooked and overpriced. We tried a variety of menu items, including the conch salad, which tasted overwhelmingly like tomatoes, masking any conch flavor. The fried catfish, snapper filet, and shrimp were all rubbery and dry, clearly overcooked, and desperately needed hot sauce to add any flavor. The cocktail sauce was another letdown, tasting more like ketchup than anything else. We also tried the sweet tea, which had a very strange flavor that didn’t sit well with us, and the mango pineapple drink, which was way too sweet to enjoy. On the positive side, the fried okra and mushrooms were well-cooked and enjoyable. However, those few highlights weren't enough to make up for the overall poor quality of the meal. With so many seafood restaurants available, I regret spending almost $60 here. I wish I had chosen a different restaurant. I won’t be returning and can't recommend it to others.

Came in for the first time on a Sunday evening for dinner and was a great option. I was in the mood for something salty and fried and they delivered! The service was fast and everything was made to order. I tried their fried chicken wings (they give you the whole wing) so the 10 wing order was actually 20. Crispy, juicy and flavorful. The chicken gizzards were also lightly batter and they were delicious. The corn fritters were also pretty good. The conch fritters were good , but I would have like a bit more conch in them. Overall everything tasted delicious and I would be back.

This is a no frills location with fast service. We tried their conch, wings, French fries, and their strawberry shortcake dessert. The dessert seems to be made by a third party, and this location just carries and sells them, but it was a shareable size for 2 people and very fresh. Everything else was also really good and comparable to other similar locations like Snappers down the road. The prices were competitive, and for the convenience and speed of service, I'd gladly come back.

Update: I'm editing my original score due to manager reaching out to rectify the situation. Every business makes mistakes, how you respond to the negative review is what makes the difference. Due to this I am willing to give the restaurant another shot in the future.

Original review: Got a conch meal today and I'm not exaggerating when I say that at least 90% of the fried conch was RANCID, as soon as I opened the plate I could smell the sourness so there is NO WAY that the cook did not know that they were frying spoiled conch!!! Absolutely disgusting smh. Never coming to hooks again after this and what's crazy is I preferred them over snappers in the past. Used to come to this hooks on 441 frequently to get the fried conch but hadn't been since the new year. I KNOW what their fried conch tastes like very well, this mess was sour truly. I bit into a few to make for certain that the smell wasn't just a smell and they had a distinct sour taste. At that point I started smelling them all individually to pinpoint pieces that WEREN'T sour and there was maybe 4 pieces total that were edible. They smelled normal and tasted normal, the rest were of...

The catfish wasn't nearly as tasty as it has been at other Hook stores in the past. The service was good, but I was the only customer there. For some reason, this Hook will not come up on Google unless you put the address in. I even Googled "Hook near me" while in the parking lot, and the other Miami Gardens store came up. The insides of the store DEFINITELY need some TLC. It's in bad need of a good painting, and there is a long, dark hallway leading to the restroom (which had no soap whatsoever, not even a dispenser). I love Hook, but this store, aside from good service, is a huge step down from any other Hook...
