To say that our visit here was a disappointment would be an understatement. When this restaurant first opened it opened to big fanfare and rightfully so. I’m a major fan of the Sergio’s brand and the idea of having a quick serve version of it was a dream come true. Unfortunately, that has not been the experience on what seems like a great idea that has been poorly executed.
My last visit: we walked in and stood at the podium where you’re supposed to wait for someone to seat you. While the employees awkwardly looked at us as they carried out duties my wife and I wondered if maybe they were closed or closing and were upset that we walked in as they were getting ready to leave. The place had a very strange stench and had multiple tables that had dirty silverware and plates that appeared to have been sitting there for hours from previous customers. Finally, we just decided to sit down as no one was really addressing us but we figured it was cause they were busy. We had to sit at a dirty table and move items over to another table (outside, cause the smell inside was terrible). While sitting and waiting outside we noticed to separate customers briefly walk in and walk out (empty handed) and watched as they walked to neighboring restaurants. At this point, I’m infuriated that no one has the common courtesy to tell us they’d be with us soon. So I walk inside and I ask if the dining is open because we’ve been waiting (which they’ve been watching) and I’m told in a very sarcastic and negative tone that they are open for dining but you have to order at the counter due to the fact that they are understaffed. I said okay, thanks. I placed my order and the gentleman who took my order starts to create a bowl, as I watch him get the food from the containers I was already regretting ordering but felt too embarrassed to back out. The food looked stale to the point as if it had been sitting out since the previous day. My wife asked if that would be hot cause it looks cold and stale and the gentleman assured us it would be hot. When we went to pay I was shocked at the cost. But we proceeded to sit at the still dirty table that we had cleared earlier outside. When we went to eat, the food was cold. At this point, I was so dissatisfied and my temper had reached a limit. To avoid any issues I refused to say anything but the time has come to air it out and this is my channel to do so. I hope that ownership/management reads this and I hope that something is done to rectify the quick deterioration of this amazing concept and brand.
With that said, I understand the current challenges. But part of successfully operating a business requires over coming or adapting to those challenges. To be honest it feels as if nothing is being attempted to improve the situation at this location as I have now heard from multiple people that this place has gotten very very bad over the...
Read moreOk, Im starting them off with 3 stars because I felt that they are just starting to get the business off the ground.. I noticed that they had a new Sergios in Miami Lakes and decided to visit them for dinner this weekend. I was so surprised to walk in and find that they are a super small restaurant compared to their other locations.. they must have about 15 tables max if even that many. The Restaurant is new and looks attractive and updated. The service is not quite what it should be yet but I am sure they will improve with time. The waitresses are connected to the kitchen or to the hostess by way of ear pieces and when taking our dinner order she was distracted by who ever was talking to her through that earpiece. It was kind of confusing, I wasnt sure if she was answering me regarding my order or if she was talking to the person in the kitchen. I finally asked her and she admitted that they were talking to her from the kitchen. The menu is a smaller version of the usual menu so many items that you are use to ordering from their menu are not available. I asked about that and they said that this location is more focused on take out orders as they are mostly catering to the businesses in the area Monday thru Friday for breakfast and lunch. They have some of the healthy food options from La Flaca Menu, I had the cauliflower rice and vaca frita.. it was very good and still healthy. I cant say that I wont return because it was not bad. I Would reccomend that you try for yourself if you are...
