They truly went above and beyond.
I arrived from Brasilia at Miami International Airport. However a flight was cancelled and rescheduled and am currently left with a 14 almost 15 hour layover. My flight is so far on the future that I could not check my bags so I could not get to the gate. However I was starving. So I sought to order some food. A lot of places didn't deliver to the airport so I kept going through websites trying to find one that would and I found Papa Johns. I put in the address and order. For some reason the order subcontracted out to doordash but it should not have been a problem.
The schenderfaude that ensued lasted a great many hours. (It was like 2)
When I was putting in the address I picked KFC in the airport right next to me on the map and used that address. Little did I know what grievous error this was.
The driver didn't move on the tracker so I called him because I thought the location might be confusing. It was after all a massive airport. He did not speak English (nothing that this is a problem per say but it was an extra layer of communication) so I told him I would message him and I used Google translate.
On the tracking website I then noticed something. The address was completely different than where I was. I messaged him and told the driver that I was sorry for the confusion that I didn't know what happened but if he came to the airport I'd tip him and extra 5 and where I was was a quarter of the distance of the address listed. However at this point he was on the freeway and he did not pick up until he was at the mistaken address.
I decided then to call Papa Johns and they read me the address which is what I typed into the website, however the manager informed me that it was not the address of the airport. I double check maps and it matched the address of the airport KFC so close to me so I had come to this conclusion:
that it was an address formated in such a way that when the system sent it over to doordash. Doordash must've "filled in the blanks" so to speak. Most address forms in website have some type of auto fill/correction function. (Ex. 101 sun avenue becomes 101 SUN AVE.) And through this process doordash had corrupted the address I typed toMiami Beach.
The manager agreed to cancel the order.
Nevertheless this story does not end here.
When the driver noticed what I had said(finally) he said it was too far and I told him no worries as Papa Johns cancelled the order. The driver does something not unexpected but inconvenient nonetheless. He marks the order delivered and continues his day.
I looked up when I was to expect a refund and according to Papa Johns sources I may not get refunded at all which really upset me. So I call Papa Johns and speak to the manager and she says she has to call doordash and talk about if and why the driver didn't deliver the food (pizza bureaucracy) and I tell her that the driver marked it delivered and she sighed a bit and then says she needs to talk to doordash. I wait on hold before she gets back to me again. And she asks me if I want a refund or the food to be delivered. Me a starving woman stranded at the airport opts to have the food redelivered. She tells she needs the correct address and the gate and door number and everything. So this time I give the address of the airport with the departure gate as well as what I was wearing. She told me it'd be 30-40 minutes and that I need to be outside.
Not taking any chances I go outside and wait until the driver arrives. As I wait there with emy grumbling stomach the driver pulls up and I flag him down. He then goes to his trunk and reveals the holy Grail. Pizza. As he checks the receipt and pulls my food up.
and then he asks to pay. I say I'm not supposed to. He did not speak English fluently and we went back and forth as he double checked the items. (Not angrily on either side just confusion.) He proceeds to call and confirm it's paid and gives me my food.
Finally I am free. The manager could've cancelled or told me tough luck. But the staff worked to fix...
Read moreI always get my deliveries from this store since it's the closest store, but half of the time they get my order wrong. Usually the pepperoni or ham is missing. The only reason why I didn't give a lower review is because they always make it right and redo the order for free next time I order or sometimes they resend it immediately when it has cheese. They always give me the option to choose if I want to have the order redone immediately or another day. But this time as I'm writing this review I called over another mistake, I barely said a word, I didn't even have time to give the name on the order, and they put the order in immediately instead of letting me choose what I wanted to. Apparently the person already knew the name of my order, since he said the right name, and they sounded a bit frustrated that it was me again. I can't complain about free pizza, but their constant mistakes are starting to get really annoying at times, especially when they accidentally put cheese on it. I'm starting to consider making my own pizzas again even if it takes a lot of effort, which is what I should be doing since there's no mistakes on it and it comes out better tasting, especially since I can bake it with the cheese instead of adding it later after it's already cooked. The only thing is I don't have easy access to as much ingredients as Papa John's has. Something to add is that usually it comes full with the ingredients, but sometimes they barely put any ingredients, it's varies a lot. But for now, out of convenience I'll keep ordering and hope they don't get my order wrong again.
Edit: 2 years later and they still unfortunately keep messing up. It was another pepperoni with ham on the whole pizza with half veggies and half pineapple. They forgot the pepperonis again. At least they gave me a credit. It's only two ingredients though. I still have the same opinion that I don't really care for credit, I just want my pizza done right. As I'm writing this edit, I ordered another pizza without the credit since like I said, I like a lot more ingredients, and it came...
Read moreUPDATE: After the store refused to answer the phone or try to deliver the order again, My coworker had to actually go to the store. When she arrived the delivery driver was in the store eating her wings, the store hadn't even closed yet. The manager Ronnie had an attitude but obviously was surprised that she made her way to the store. I'm sure they assumed that they wouldn't have to face the issue face to face. What a joke! Looking at previous reviews I see that hanging up on customers and unprofessionalism at this store is the norm. Bad experiences spread like wild fire...especially at one of places that you all receive a lot of your business. Still moving forward with Corporate and we have names.
I am submitting this review because of a situation at this time I experienced with my Coworker's order. I was with my coworker while we waited for an order that was placed on 1/29/21 at around 11:15pm-11:30pm and scheduled to be delivered. During this time, the order status said "Delivered". She called to check the status and the store associate (male) stated that they attempted to deliver the order, called the number associated with the order multiple times but no one answered. My coworker then advised she gave specific instructions in the "Special Instructions" form of the online order to call a number that NO ONE called. We were by the phone the whole time. She asked to speak to the "manager", Ronnie. The manager himself tried to tell her she did not leave instructions, totally dismissed her concerns, and did not come up with a resolution. He then hung up on her. We attempted to call back many times but they kept picking up and hanging up the call for more than 30 minutes. This is ridiculous and needs to be addressed with staff ASAP as we order from this store ALL the time but will not anymore. We will be moving forward with corporate about this store and staff. There is more than one way to...
