A Hidden Peruvian Gem in Miami Springs: Ceviches by Divino Delivers a Flavorful, Elegant Escape
Tucked away in the heart of Miami Springs, Ceviches by Divino is a Peruvian tapas and gastrobar that offers far more than meets the eye. On a quiet weekday afternoon, I had the pleasure of sharing lunch with my mother at this warm and welcoming spot—and what followed was a delightful culinary escape to the coastlines of Peru, without ever leaving the city.
The ambiance strikes a balance between cozy and chic. There’s a subtle sophistication in the air—wood accents, modern lighting, and a curated playlist that sets a relaxed but upscale mood. You could just as easily come for a casual lunch as you could for a date night or celebration.
We began with the Causa Ganadora, a playful yet elegant take on a classic. The layered potato purée, creamy and cool, was topped with vibrant, fresh seafood that added a dynamic contrast of textures and temperatures. The presentation was modern, but the flavor stayed true to its traditional roots.
Next came the Arroz Con Mariscos—a dish that radiates comfort and craft. The rice was rich with the essence of shellfish, kissed by ají amarillo and perfectly cooked seafood. Each bite was a reminder of why Peruvian cuisine is celebrated for its bold but balanced flavors. It was hearty, satisfying, and subtly luxurious.
But the standout was undoubtedly the Combinado Marino—a stunning medley of ceviche, jalea, and more, artfully arranged to showcase the chef’s finesse with seafood. The ceviche was bright and bracing, the fish impeccably fresh. The crispy jalea added crunch and warmth, creating a dance of textures and flavors that was as fun to eat as it was expertly executed.
Service was warm, knowledgeable, and unhurried our server shared thoughtful recommendations without rushing us, allowing us to savor each course at our own pace.
Ceviches by Divino is a testament to what Peruvian cuisine can be when treated with respect, creativity, and a sense of hospitality. Whether you're a long-time lover of Latin flavors or a curious newcomer, this gastrobar is a destination worth visiting—and revisiting.

Read moreCeviches by Divino has been on my radar for a while now but since its a decent distance away from where I live I've just been waiting on the right opportunity to come for me to go. Finally, my birthday rolled around and I couldn't have been happier with eating here for such a wonderful lunch of my favorite cuisine: Peruvian!
Upon arriving, I noted how small the restaurant seemed but whoever designed the interior did really well in creating proper seating in what seems to be a small space and creating the perfect rustic but modern ambiance!
The Peruvian inspired fusion menu is simple and also offers tasty looking twists such as causa sushi rolls. It was just my boyfriend and I eating so we decided to order the an appetizer plus an entree to chair. We started with the Pulpo Anticuchero $10 which was pretty much beautiful large pieces of octopus served on skewers with anticucho seasoning over a bed of corn and potato. I LOVED THIS! I could literally eat that everyday and die happy----it was absolutely delicious. tender, smoky, and flavorful. Next we ordered the Beef Arroz Chauffa $12. I don't normally order fried rice when eating out but based upon friends recommendations and other reviews did I decide to try it----- it blew me away! It was fantastic; especially served in a small skillet that retained the smoky flavor of the tender grilled beef! I would definitely order this again.
I do also have to note the phenomenal service I received. I'm sorry to say that I cannot remember his name but if the business owner reads this, he has glasses and is from Ecuador (he also said great things about you)! Our server was completely attentive but with a wonderful formality in his serving skills that truly elevated our dining experience. He also was very knowledgeable about the food and could identify the tiny sprout with so much flavor in my rice!
Overall I will most definitely be returning and recommending this restaurant to others because of their perfect service, fantastic food, and affordable...
Read moreI honestly do not know how or why this restaurant has a 5 star rating. A 3-4 star rating would be more than reasonable if you don't mind paying above average prices for a kids meal. This because they literally serve you a portion that resembles a kids meal and charge you as if you're paying for a regular meal at any other Peruvian Restaurant.
However, regarding the food, let's start by the stuffed plantain with ceviche. You're basically paying $13 for three (3) small cup like fried plantains with plain ceviche that was nothing spectacular. In addition, the plantains were dry as if they were reheated or over-cooked.
I then opted for the octopus croquettes and they were fantastic. It was certainly the best meal my girlfriend and I had and if not for the small portion I would come back just to have it. Unfortunately, you only get four (4) meatball sized croquettes for $16-17. This is why I added one more star but like the other plates I considered it to be overpriced for it's size.
Finally, my girlfriend wanted ceviche (that's what we came for after all ) and it was just "meh". It was plain ceviche with a small amount of mashed sweet potato and choclo in leche de Tigre. Honestly, I could've ordered this plate from any other Peruvian place for less and a larger serving size.
In sum, I would definitely not come back. After ordering three different plates (two that were subpar) and leaving hungry this is certainly not the place for me. The service was good and the waiters were attentive but this is not my cup of tea as I despise digger station type of...
