Very nice restaurant at Mills Park Hotel (hotel appeared to be very nice also). Staff was very nice. Bottles of water brought to table as a courtesy without asking. I always like that, it reminds me of a courtesy you use to receive at all restaurants years ago. My wife has celiac disease and waitress made sure kitchen knew it. Chef came out and made sure her food restrictions were met. Food was excellent with nice portions. There were 4 of us and no complaints only praise. Food was priced at a fair price. We sat out on their porch and enjoyed the beautiful day. The don't take reservations but if you call ahead about 30 minutes before you get there they will put you on the waiting list. That is why I listed no wait. We were seated when we arrived. If you just show up I would expect waiting for a little bit.

This may be how restaurants once looked and felt like in the old days over a century ago when Yellow Springs used to be a major tourist destination for people from Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus. Located near the lobby of the largest hotel in the village, Ellie's Restaurant offers wonderful breakfast and lunch menus. We stopped by for lunch and also for breakfast the next day. Both visits were fun. The service is remarkable.

Ellie’s in Yellow Springs was amazing! Our server, Jennifer, was incredibly accommodating, and the food was absolutely divine—every bite was a treat. Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience. Food: breakfast skillet, chicken and waffle with normal maple syrup, and shrimp and grits. Get the shrimp and grits! Drink: Berry French 75 ❤️

Ellie's was really great. It's located inside the Mills Park Hotel in Yellow Springs Ohio and we had an incredible meal there. Kyler was our server and he was super! The place is beautiful and the little town is really special. I ordered a skillet type concoction that was delicious and it came with a biscuit that was the size of my head lol. Of course I ordered a side of gravy to go with it, what am I nuts? My wife had the grilled Ham and Cheese with tomato basil soup. The sandwich was excellent but the soup was a little bitter so she didn't finish it. Don't let the soup this worry you. No restaurant is perfect every time and I would definitely go back if I'm ever in that part of Ohio again. We ended our meal with a small Key Lime pie and a blueberry scone and they were TO DIE FOR! I'm sure that if you ever get a chance to go there you'll love it. We really enjoyed it overall.

Thanks again Kyler and Ellie's, you guys are awesome!

Take Care and Happy...

Our group has been to Ellie's on multiple occasions and always had a very positive experience. This week was nowhere near what we have come to expect of Ellie's. Food portions were obviously smaller and not at the high quality level we were accustomed to based on previous visits. One person ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken had been pounded so thin that it was mostly breading after picking through to get to the chicken. Another person's order was overlooked by BOH and brought out later than everyone else's food. Even then, it had the wrong side item which the waitress blew off like it was no big deal. There was no offer to discount her meal, comp a dessert, etc.. Most of our party had already started eating as several had hot food. Our group was, on the whole, not pleased with our overall experience. We try to support local restaurants in the Greene County area but I don't think we will venture back to Ellie's...

My wife and I attended the Valentine dinner and we were highly disappointed. What we thought would be a nice romantic evening turned out to be a disaster.

We were seated promptly at 6:30 but we did not receive our soup until 7:30. Then we waited!!!!! Finally at 8 PM I requested that my wife's salmon be server while I waited on my steak. It arrived at 8:20 but instead of being "medium"  it was "raw" --- not "rare" but raw. I sent it back. In a few minutes it was returned "rare". At this point the potatoes and vegetables were cold. I was thoroughly disgusted and left.

At this point offered a bottle of wine -- "too little, too late".

Our waiter seemed simply overwhelmed!!

My wife and I have enjoyed meals at Ellie's in the past but this is probably the worst restaurant experience we've ever had and we're 73 years old!! I would really have to think long and hard before eating...
