I got the Reuben, which was good, but very heavy on the sauerkraut (this is a positive or negative depending on your taste). My friends got sandwiches and soup that they said were amazing! The prices were a little bit high for me, but not higher than any other deli you could find in the area. The staff here were really friendly and you can tell they've cultivated a very welcoming atmosphere, even with the store being pretty tiny. There were a lot of options for fresh made food as well as snacks, chocolates, drinks, and pantry items. I'll be curious to try them again in a catering context someday, as I have a feeling that's where they really shine.

A last minute decision to drive over to Yellow Springs brought us here. The window says, “decadent desserts from scratch”! C’mon! How could we walk by?! We came in for something sweet and had lunch. Bagel with lox, cream cheese and capers for me, and ham and cheese for Julie. By the time we bit into the luscious chocolatey wonder, we were full and happy. Super friendly folks with tons of patience to aid in your decision. We’ll be back

A GREAT gourmet deli. If you’re riding your bike through or going to spend the day in Yellow Springs or hiking in Glen Helen or John Bryant, you must stop in here for the best sandwich and sides around. Also the desserts! You can also order the best cakes for your birthday party and special occasion from Steve. They are fantastic! If you’re lucky, the African Chicken Peanut soup is on the menu the day you’re here.

I used to love this place—it was honestly one of my favorites in town. And it’s usually so good. However, my recent visit with three friends was a huge disappointment. We were told it would be a 30-minute wait for our bagels on a busy afternoon, which wasn’t an issue nor the problem with our visit, and we decided to wait. The bagels are priced at $0.99 (with an additional $1.99 for cream cheese, so basically $3.00), and we each ordered a bag of chips for $4.99. When we paid, I was shocked to see the total was over $15 for just a bagel and chips (for one person).

I mentioned the discrepancy to the woman at the counter, who I assume was the owner. Instead of addressing the issue, she became rude and insisted that the prices were correct, claiming it should be around $10, despite my bill being over $15. She kept cutting me off and talking over me, which was overwhelming for me as a shy person. I left because I was genuinely so angry and without my money resolved, feeling mistreated. The bagel itself wasn’t worth it, and the terrible customer service ensures I won’t be...

I ordered 5 days in advance a white chocolate raspberry cake for my 77 year old mother for Easter, who is allergic to strawberries. My mother went to pick it up and it had strawberries on it so she didn’t want it. The manager is the one who took my order, Kara, and when I called to see what happened, Kara stated that on the ticket it didn’t say raspberry or strawberry. Instead of calling me and asking they made it strawberry. The woman at the register was rude to my mom and said they had no other cakes to sell but brought out a white chocolate raspberry cake and put in the case and cut two pieces for a customer. The customer felt bad and offered it to my mom and the lady behind the counter said absolutely not, so they sold my mom a lemon torte instead. No apology no compensation. They could have called when they weren’t sure. Isn’t that why they take your...

I don’t come here often but often hike in yellow springs. The food here is delicious, they have the best sandwiches ever. However the service puts a bad taste in my mouth. Every-time I come in, the workers seemed annoyed that I’m there in the first place. I was there to order a sandwich and was told twice with a condescending tone that it would be a 20 minute wait. I said it was fine and while ordering my sandwich I was told my sandwich had a lot of toppings and would be hard to eat with the same tone. They just seemed upset that I even ordered. I understand being frustrated that there’s a lot of work to do, but it’s not a great idea to let that frustration out on your customers. I want to like this place, I really do. It’s such a cute little shop and I’ve tried but I can stand dealing with the same service that only...
