El Vallarta Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Miami

The restaurant had a funky odor. We placed our order. I ordered Shrimp chipotle ($12.49) my friend ordered Pollo Durango ($9.49). The food arrived by another server, I go pollo chipotle my friend got the pollo Durango. I said this is not what I ordered. My server came by I explained it ordered the grilled shrimp chipotle. Not chicken. He said not you ordered pollo. I questioned I know mine was $2.00 more than my friends. Is this $2.00 more. ‘No’ well I know I ordered the shrimp. He blew me off and said the kitchen is busy it will take 25 minutes for change it and walked off. I didn’t want chicken. I had chicken the night before and was shocked at the rudeness of this waiter. Found another waiter and sent the food back. Waited while my friend ate hers. (Which was soupy and too runny for Chicken Durango, but was at least what she had ordered). No one ever came back to check on us. My friend ate a small proportion of hers and we left. Still not ever a ticket. We got to the counter to pay out. My friend paid for hers - I explained that I had returned mine as it was not what I ordered. While standing at the counter the smell from the kitchen was overwhelming- the smell of raw sewage. We left and about 30-45 miles down the road (Muskogee) of our trip my friend was hit with stomach cramps. We had to stay in a motel where she stayed in the bathroom the better part of the night. This place is terrible. We will never eat there again. Diners BEWARE!!! We highly DO NO...

My experiences at the Miami location, for years,had been a very pleasureable experience.The food had been the best Mexican food around this area. The last two(2) times ,my party dined at El Vallarta(Miami),the dish served to me(Shrimp Fajita) the shrimp, and only the shrimp , was a bit overcooked (RUBBERY).The other member of my party, had no complaints with the food. I will also, go as far to say, one might try to get a booth,as they are more comfortable to sit in,while waiting(usually only 15 min.)and then dining,but would try to sit on the left side of the building when entering.The reason for this, is it's much warmer ,on the right side(convenience store side) of the building.Dirty dishes are also stored on the right side(end of isle) and the restroom is located on the left side ,when entering establishment. The atmosphere and warmness of the employees contribute to the friendliness felt while visiting this well established resturant. I have ate at all of their stores in N.E. Oklahoma.,and other than the last (2) TIMES The food has been excemplary,in its preparation,and delivery. I WILL be visiting El Vallarta in Miami again in the near future.I will simply stay away from the shrimp ,for a while... I THINK I will have the enchallada's...with white cheese sause ,instead of the red sauce , as they will make it ,anyway you want it prepared....and those enchalladas are excellent...

We heard good things so we went out of our way to go here. I'll start by saying they were very busy. If we hadn't have went out of the way to go we probably would have went some where else. Salsa was just alright. Not bad not good just tomato and cilantro. The cow boy fajitas was easily the highlight. Was a lot of food and very good I ended up taking half home. My friend got chicken fajita nacho and another had fish tacos. My friend got a mango margarita. She said it didn't taste like mango so I tried it and it had a pineapple sorbet taste. The stuff I really didn't care for now. Stopped in restroom to wash hands when we first got there. A mix of urine and water was all over floor along with paper towels. It was very slippery and gross. My female friend said the ladies room floor was covered in paper products also. All I saw was male employees while I was there. So while I could kind of understand how the female restroom might have been dirty the men's room had no excuse. They did take drink order when they sat us. I just had water. Almost 50 min later when the waiter brought the check did he finally ask if I needed a refill. Again they were busy so maybe it was a bad night. Would I go again? Probably not but I hope it was just an off night and they do better...
