I was in Miami and had an hour to kill, so I stopped by the Lucky Buffet. I'm an out-of-towner, so I didn't know the drill. They pointed me towards the tables, but didn't tell me where I was supposed to land. So, I sat in a booth for a moment and waited on someone to come by. It didn't happen, so I thought I'd just go have at it.
This was mistake, because I lost my place and never got silverware. I found a new spot and am functional enough with chopsticks, so I forged on. However, I quickly had a problem with no napkins. The server brought water and I was told the napkins were "over there"... motioning where the food was.
"Over there" is on the other side of the steam tables, not visible unless you make a full walk around them. I did like that they were in a big dispenser, as it always seems hard to get enough napkins at places that don't have dispensers.
The food, however, was nothing short of spectacular. The hot-and-sour soup was the only thing I wouldn't get again, simply because it is too spicy for me. I've had hot-and-sour soup all over, and I've never had it be so spicy that it gave me hiccups. But then again, it is HOT-and-sour soup, so you can't really complain.
All the standards are here: Egg rolls, Lo Mein, Egg Fu Young, Chicken Wings (cut in a novel way... almost like "lollipop" chicken), Sweet and Sour Chicken, Pot Stickers, Cashew Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, Chicken and Broccoli, Pork with Scallions, Japanese Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, stuffed mushrooms, and a sushi station. Everything is delightfully hot, temperature-wise, and the chicken teriyaki is perfect (I tend to judge a place on its chicken teriyaki).
No one gave me a ticket, so I just went to the cashier without one. He was a little gruff, as was just about the entire staff, but it was hot and busy, so that's understandable.
I can't say it wasn't a bit awkward for me, but now that I kind of know the drill, I think it'll be more enjoyable for future visits. The bottom line is that the food is amazing, and at $10.60 before tax and tip for an all you can eat lunch buffet, I felt like a thief. It's well...
Read moreFirst the noodles(I'm a noodle guy), which were steaming and full of vegetables. Now forgive me, but I didn't look at the labels as to the names of the offerings-if it looked good, it was going on my plate. There is this one chicken dish that is laid out on a metal tray covered in aluminum foil-OMG, is it good! The mushrooms were fresh and tasty. Many selection of Sushi-all soft, fresh and tasty as well.
What is most important to note-Lucky Buffet offers a great buffet. The food is fresh, fantastic tasting, constantly being replenished and plenty of staff to cater to your needs. Now this review isn't just about the Buffet, as Lucky Buffet also offers menu items and * LUCKY BUFFET DELIVERS * .
Now the menu I've uploaded is their current menu, and it's probably a menu design you've seen from many places nationwide-but do not let that deter you in ordering as the food is deelishus(yea, intentional bad spelling)
I ordered the House Special Lo Mein, full of vegetables and chicken and pork and beef and shrimp....OH MY, YUMMY YUMMY! I also ordered the Hot Pepper Chicken as well as the 'Dragon & Phoenix'. Everything delivered in about 30 minutes, steamy and hot and the best tasting food I've had in a while-and yes, the portions are LARGE. I even received an extra bonus-a 2 liter bottle of orange soda.
At this point, I STRONGLY recommend Lucky Buffet because they have a great Buffet as well as great items off the menu and you get more than you bargain for and....and......* LUCKY BUFFET DELIVERS *
If you like you cuisine spicy, definitely let your server or the person on...
Read moreI can't recall a time when I was so disappointed in Chinese food or sushi. I called in a pick-up order, and the phone etiquette was abhorrent. I decided to give them a shot anyway. Hoping out was just a language barrier. Upon arrival, the hostility continued, but my food was ready...sort of. The items were more expensive than advertised as well. I got home and opened up the containers to discover that I did but get what I ordered. Both the sushi rolls were wrong and inedible. Literally, the dog wouldn't even eat them. I wish that was an exaggeration. Also, the wasabi was liquefied, never have I seen this. And I eat sushi every chance I get. I also ordered a Chinese dish. That came with fluorescent fried rice, again, the dog wouldn't eat. The shrimp dish was mediocre at best. It was soggy and had loads of raw onions. I have no idea how this place...
