Happy to see iconic Cuban Nightclub reopen since being closed 2019! Been open only a week and officially opening Thursday, June 27!

Best part? I know Vietnamese Chef Jon Nguyen & owner of popular Tran An in Little River who will develop a menu bringing some Chino Latino bites! We all know how much Hispanic people adore Asian food. Smart move.

There’s a diverse group of people that came together to make this happen! They’ve done a fantastic job restoring and renovating the space. It’s taken 3 years.

I was lucky to attend a networker last night and started in the smaller, cozy lounge, La Sala separated by a breezeway and beautiful outdoor patio to the nightclub.

Chef Jon aka Uncle Jon took us around the back through the wonderful outdoor garden and introduced us to Mstreettacos! Choice of steak, chicken or Chicharron. I got steak, so tasty, good beef not chewy with creamy avocado but def need to try Chicharron next! They are there only Fridays for now.

When you enter the nightclub, you immediately see the stage and DJ stand with full bar straight ahead. Since I had been booking live music for Smorgasburg last year, I of course was interested in their music program. Uncle Jon gladly introduced me to Melissa Messulam, music producer, Conecta! It was lovely to be able to have a conversation with her. She has already lined up acts for the whole summer. She spoke about honoring the venue and its reputation for Cuban music which I think is so wonderful.

Oh, Mr. Miami, Marvin Tapia dropped in with his wife and enjoyed a dance. Never know who you’ll meet.

I feel very disappointed. Even at the point of crying. I’m Cuban, and have lived in Miami for over 20 years and this has always been the place to go. So upsetting to go to the store what once was your favorite spot and find that the new management is running it into the ground. If you’ve never been before it is not specified that when you reserve that doors open at 9pm but the performance doesn’t start until 11pm. That’s a 2 hour difference that should be told to the customers. I got there at 10:30pm, and the place was almost empty and no music playing, not even recorded. This place used to be good to go dancing, music always playing, even if it was recorded, and was always full. Which tells you the place is dying. The food it’s not good quality and it’s over, over priced, and 18% service charge is added to your bill even in a 2 person table. After the performance started the noise coming from the back bar was unbearable. We couldn’t hear the performer talk, and even after they were told they didn’t care and continued talking very loud and making lots of noise. This were the servers.
