I decided to bring my damily here because a friend of mine said there was an awesome flavor there but he didn't say much else. I regret going there. First off the customer service was horrible. I was prepared to spend $45 on icecream for 5 kids, 3 adults plus two icecream tubs that cost $11 each. One problem thata offended me was that they apparently didn't think I was Hispanic so on occasion they would have a sidebar on me not know I couod understand them. There was one icecream I wanted but it was all the way gone to the bottom and turned syrupy. The one lady asked the manager if she can change it out for a new. The manager replied no you have to scrape it all out. I then interjected and asked if she coukd bring a new container, also let her know I understand FIFO first in first out but I wiuld appreciate a fresh icecream. She continued to lie to me by saying that she was sorry but there was no more in the busines... (If so then why was the employee about to go get it???). This made me feel very suspicious since the lady handling my order said there was more icecream. Then when it came time to pay they informed me that they only take cash... there was no sign nor did they tell me verbally, However, i foundbit very convenient that there was an ATM machine there that would happily charge me $3.00 to use it. You mean to tell me with all the square cards and othe electronic pay methods out here they couldn't figure that out. So I took the cash out and proceeded to pay but just as Ibwas about tobpay my 2 yr old son drops his icecream cone and went bizerk. I asked if they could make him another one and they refused. They didn't even offer a simple remedy, for example, not charging me for the icecream the fell inside their establishment. They employees made me and my famuly feel uncomfortable and inconvenienced there. One of my worst experiences...
Read moreI'm not someone who usually goes out for ice cream—truth be told, I rarely step into ice cream parlors at all. But life has a funny way of changing your habits, especially when it leads you to a first date. La Michoacana was the meeting spot, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to make a first impression.
From the moment I walked in, the vibe was welcoming and full of life. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and positive energy that immediately set the tone. Even for someone like me who isn’t big on sweets, the variety of ice cream flavors was both impressive and tempting. I went for something bold—tequila and pistachio—and wow, both were absolutely A+. Creamy, flavorful, and unforgettable.
But what truly sets La Michoacana apart isn’t just the quality of their ice cream—it’s the ambiance. The decor is colorful, vibrant, and full of personality. Every corner of the place feels carefully curated, making it feel more like an experience than just a casual stop for a treat.
And then there’s the sentimental part: that night turned out to be one of the greatest of my life. Something about the energy of La Michoacana, the thoughtful presentation of each dessert, and even the subtle details in the décor made it feel like the universe had dressed the place up just for us. It wasn’t just a date—it was a memory. And La Michoacana played a big part in that magic.
If you’re in Homestead and looking for more than just dessert—looking for a place that feels warm, authentic, and a little bit...
Read moreAs much as I loved their awesome and tasteful ice cream, I dislike the prices $2.18 for each Popsicle. Then I called in advance to order 5 dozen tamales, and I was told that each tamal cost $2.50!....I negotiated the price over the phone and the encharge told me that they were big and worth the price. When I arrived with a Cuban friend, the employee dispatching the Popsicles wasn't able to explain the different ice cream flavors or ingredients(I mean we live in Miami, and all of us come from different Countries, and some ingredients are known with different names.). Then when I saw the tiny tamales I almost have to pick up my jaw before dropping to the floor. (I have pictures of the tamal) And when I was ready to pay, No credit or debit cards are accepted, only cash. So I had to walk a couple blocks to withdraw $ from an ATM. So, it wasn't a good experience this time, although their ice cream is one of the best...
