We stayed here twice before and after our cruise. first, the positives. It was new, clean, well decorated and comfortable enough. The first night we were on the second floor so it was relatively quite, though we could hear people above us and in the hall way from time to time. All in all I would have rated our first stay a four. Communication was difficult, if you speak spanish, you'll be just fine. It's in a bit of a sketchy area, but they lock the doors at night so it felt secure and safe.
It was the little things that I missed. For example, there are no hairdryers in the room, which may not seem big to some, but to me was very disappointing. There was very little counter space and there was no phone in the room, which we didn't notice until we wanted to phone the desk.
On the way back, they put us in the first room off the lobby, there is no sound barrier so we heard people coming in and out all night long it seemed. I was woken up every half hour. Our television didn't work. They only gave us one towel between the two of us. They wouldn't allow early checkin, even though I requested it via email weeks in advance. They DID say they could keep our bags, but they just left them in the middle of the lobby with no one even in the lobby to watch them, which didn't make us feel comfortable. If you are prepared for just a bed, however, it's clean, nicely renovated, and the...

Cons: Water bottle in the room was pre-opened. noisy rooms, i.e., you can hear every little sound in the lobby in your room. Water pressure in the shower was a trickle and no that's not a figure of speech. I actually removed the showerhead and that did not even help. Even with a trickling shower, the drains were slow.
General: The place was a budget hotel with a nice lobby. I noticed comments about the neighborhood, but I had no problems with walking in and out of the area in the evenings and into the night. I realized that I was in the city and acted accordingly. It was about a 15 to 20 minute walk to where things started to get interesting along 8th Ave in Little Havana. I would stay there again, but I would ask for a room as far from the lobby as possible due to the way the sound carries from the lobby.
The photo is the roof top area. I was up there early in the morning. It looks like they might have service offerings up there, but when I was there they did not. Either way it was a nice place to sit and...
Read moreWe were kept awake by the noise from the hotel bar. The bass/music was so loud that we couldn't sleep all night (despite using earplugs). The TV didn't work. Foreign hair in the bathroom and no water pressure in the shower. The night porter is from another company and dosn't speak english (only spanish).
In addition, our rental car was damaged by the driver of the valet parking. The hotel doesn't feel responsible for the damage - they told me, that I have to talk to the Valet-company. The Valet-company doesn't feel responsible either. They charged us twice for the Valet-parking: in cash and by credidcard.
Management is not available for complaints. We have tried it personally ("I am only a small employee, the manager comes back tomorrow" - the next day the same statement), by phone ("the management is not here at the moment, call again tomorrow") by e-mail (three times - to different e-mail-addresses - no reaction).
I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all! I wouldn't stay another night in this hotel, even if it...
