Best tour ever! This Little Havana Cultural Walking Tour is the real deal. Led by guides who live in the neighbourhood for years and are certified, you will learn so much history and cultural traditions. Our guide Christine was knowledgable and passionate and everyone knew her. Little Havana is becoming so well known and by the time we finished we could see that it has become touristy.Too touristy. The food was tasty. We ate traditional finger foods and a hot meal! Our friends who arrived later in town took a culinary tour that never serves hot meal only breaded finger foods and sugary foods. They certainly missed out. For an authentic perspective you want to take this tour that smartly starts at 10am in the morning when it's cooler (a nice relief with hot Miami weather) and not as jammed packed with tours. An even bigger relief was the fact that Little Havana Tours only takes small groups. We saw other bus and culinary tour groups with 20+ people who were way too uncomfortable when they had to squeeze into tiny establishments that are not built for mass crowds. This tour indeed is the "business class" of walking tour. We plan on returning for a private tour of the rum tastings! One can book a custom tailored private tour as well. Muchas Gracias Christine and Little...
Read moreLittle Havana is one of Miami’s most vibrant and culturally rich neighborhoods, offering visitors an immersive experience into the heart of Cuban heritage. At the center of it all is Calle Ocho, a lively stretch lined with cigar shops, art galleries, murals, and cafés where the aroma of strong Cuban coffee fills the air. The neighborhood is a sensory feast—bright colors, live Latin music, and the sound of locals chatting over domino games at Máximo Gómez Park (Domino Park) create an atmosphere that feels authentic and alive. Food lovers will find plenty to enjoy, from classic Cuban sandwiches and roast pork to sweet pastelitos and guava pastries at legendary spots like Versailles or modern favorites such as Sanguich de Miami. In addition to its cuisine, Little Havana celebrates culture through landmarks like the Cuban Walk of Fame and cultural events such as Viernes Culturales, which highlight art, dance, and community traditions. While it may not have the glossy polish of Miami’s luxury districts, its warmth, authenticity, and deep cultural roots make Little Havana a must-visit destination for travelers seeking a true taste of...
Read moreWe visited Miami to see some baseball games, and happened upon Angel who gave us the tour of a lifetime! The best part about visiting different parts of the country is coming to understand how the people live there, and Angel brought us to all the places that would do just that. His knowledge of the different aspects of what makes the heart of Little Havana beat so strong is what truly made our visit South the best experience ever. He knows little Havana in a way that only one whose heart is right there could. He is a true local, full of truly interesting facts, and is willing to share his relationships with all his friends there who make Little Havana's heart beat right along with his own.
The tastes of the local treats there, like pastries, coffee, an authentic Cuban sandwich, and on and on. The best, simply the best way to understand the culture. And learning about the real picture of what happened during the Bay of Pigs event makes an American really think about things more deeply.
It was just the luckiest thing that we hooked up with Angel. It's a day our family will reflect on forever!
Sending our love...
