I had a regrettable experience at Hong Kong I, the Chinese restaurant located on Route 209 N. Milford Road Ste 162, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302. The lady at the entrance displayed an unwelcoming demeanor, lacking courtesy and sporting an unfriendly expression. The establishment's cleanliness is a concern, with an aged appearance and noticeably unclean tables. The chairs are tattered and worn, indicating a lack of maintenance.

The quality of the food was severely disappointing. The dishes were excessively high in sodium, greasy, and of notably poor quality. It appeared that the cooking oil had not been changed in quite some time, resulting in an unappetizing taste. It's advisable to steer clear of this restaurant, especially if you're not a local resident. There are numerous excellent small family-owned businesses in PA that provide much better dining experiences than this one.

We were planning to go to an Asian buffet down the road but the prices were high for our family of 6 so we looked at some reviews and decided to try Hong Kong 1 based on,other reviews. We were not disappointed! For the cost of three buffets at the other place we were able to get 6 adult portion combo meals, a quart of wonton, and drinks from Hong Kong 1. When we got the food back to the resort everyone was quiet because the food was so good. Portions were large, too, and 5 of us ended up having enough leftovers for a meal the next day. Like other reviewers had said the lady at the counter was very nice and spoke with people when she wasn't packing or taking orders. There was a good percentage of regulars that came in while we waited which tells me this place is consistently good and respected in the community.
