DeVito's Dogs & Grille — Restaurant in Middletown Township

We're always on the lookout for an Italian hot dog place comparable to the north Jersey giants. When my dad said he wanted hot dogs, I mentioned there was a couple of new places around. With the one being closed already, DeVito's it was! A cute little eat in area with a view of the grill and fryer greets you. The floor is yellow and red like mustard and ketchup (purposeful? We wondered...). Decided on two DeVito's dogs (Italian style hot dogs) and an order of fries. Had to wait a little for peppers and onions to fry up, but always willing to wait for something fresh! The cook (and I'm assuming owner) listened to my dad talk about north Jersey hot dog joints and was jovial, joking around with us and counter woman was very pleasant. Got the food home, and was impressed. Delicious, large portions. Potatoes and fries cooked to crispy and everything else cooked perfectly. Just stopped by DeVito’s Dogs & Grille in Port Monmouth and we LOVED our food! The Sabrett’s big hotdog had the perfect snap and the grilled dog was super tender and flavorful. My husband got the Italian hotdog and I was really jealous. It was served on tender pizza bread and was packed with plenty of fresh peppers and onions. The potatoes were crisp and well seasoned. We got cheeseburgers to go ( because we are foodies) and the burger was cooked to perfection with plenty of yummy melted cheese. You could choose between a hard roll or regular roll and I really like being able to have that choice! The prices were extremely reasonable, considering the size of the dogs and the quality of the meats.
