I was so excited when Chipotle finally came to Middletown, however, that excitement has sadly disappeared. There were no complaints within the first few months of them opening (I visited maybe once/twice a week). Everyone was so nice and on top of things, the food was fully stocked and everything looked clean. Within the past 2 months, I have visited only twice due to my recent poor experiences. Back in September, my husband and I came in on a Sunday (9/18) around 4ish-pm. They had NOTHING. No wraps, no chicken (that was cut up yet), no beef, no white rice, no beans.. I felt so bad for the girl just coming on her shift that was being so nice as I saw her frantically running around looking for ingredients as the other two girls stood in line and said "yeahhh that's why I'm happy I'm leaving in 20 min.." Not to mention, the cook in back just stood there looking dumb founded the entire time. I mean, how do you run out of tortilla's when you serve burritos... I was ruined after that and said I would never go back. Today, I decided to give it another try.. "maybe that was just a fluke and management was poor"... "maybe it's changed since then".. What happened today? Well they had no beans and no beef (that was ready), AND the girls in the front line were extremely rude! Not to mention they just slopped all my food onto the tray and acted like everything I asked for was an inconvenience. Also, the burritos were not labeled with what meats they were so I had to play a guessing game when I got home. I am not one to write bad reviews but my disappointment is on a whole other level with this location. I will be taking the trip to Christiana Mall when I want my Chipotle fix from now on because yeah... it's that worth it to...
Read moreWe ordered two bowls one chicken and one barbacoa. This is because they were the only two options they were all out off every other type of meat. They put a half scoop of rice a half scoop of beans and a quarter scoop of meat. For my chicken bowl this was actually 6 SMALL pieces. My girlfriend asked if she could get more rice or something because our bowls looked pathetic. They said that since they had a rice and meat shortage they were giving out half portions...... I was shocked I asked if I was only going to have to pay half price and was directed to speak to the manager. The manager overheard and without saying a word just gave me an actual scoop of chicken and then left. At this point I should have just left and given up but we were both hungry. We asked for Pico, corn, cheese, lettuce and sour cream. They had no sour cream either. We went to pay and I again asked if my girlfriend could at least get some more rice or something. They gave me a small plastic container with rice (about 4 mouth fulls). Our bowls ended up not even reaching the top of the container when normally they are overflowing. My girlfriends meat turned out to be half fat and so the little meat she had was mostly unedible. They were also out of napkins and utensils.
In summary: out of I believe 9 meat options they had two. They were out of sour cream and ALL OTHER MEATS. We received half the amount of rice and beans we were supposed to. They had no utensils out other than knives and no napkins. They never apologized for anything and did the absolute bare minimum. I'm disappointed in myself for continuing with my purchase I...
Read moreOk, I typically don't review chain restaurants due to the discipline approach and standards that chain restaurants' adherence. However, I felt the need to make an exception for this particular location, as its standards and customer service are beyond atrocious.
When a customer had to point out to the staff that there's no ice in the soda dispenser, and the fact that several soda fountains are out of syrup, the intent is trying to be helpful FOR THE STAFF so that they don't disappoint the NEXT CUSTOMER! Instead, I got a "Who Cares" reaction and look, like it's not their job. BUT IT IS! This happened before we sat down for our meal. 30 minutes later after we finished our meal, I had to check to see if this was addressed. Nope! Nada! Zip! That was strike one.
Strike two was running out of carnitas, vegetables, and dressing with no grill/replenishment orders. Now you have a line of new customers that have to wait until someone decides to actually cook or replenish something. Again, attitude was that of we don't like to be bothered.
Strike three was the inconsistency of the food. Left in the bin too long, thus being dry. Lettuce wilted because the ice to keep cool was melted. We have had Chipotle at other locations with much better quality and consistency.
This type of ineptitude goes beyond the services workers. I fault both the management and the franchise owner for allowing these types of practices and behaviors at a chain establishment. ...
