Peyton was our server and she was fantastic! We were first seated in a booth with plexiglass from the booth tops almost to the ceiling (presumably for Covid precautions, totally understandable). Unfortunately we were also right next to a party of aprox 10 people who rightfully were enjoying each others company and conversing very loudly. The sound bouncing around in our booth made it very difficult for us to converse without yelling so I asked Peyton if there was another seating option. She scanned to room and quickly decided to move us to a six top booth (it was just me and my wife) at the other end of the room. What a difference that made! Peyton continued great service throughout our meal checking in at just the right moments to refill beverages etc. The best part was her cheerful disposition. We have marked this location on our map and plan to make it a go-to stop when passing through Middletown from home to family and vice versa. Thanks for great food and even greater service! If you ho, ask for Peyton and tell her...
Read moreI don’t really like Pizza until I tried Grotto Pizza at the first time. I also love their bone in wings. However, this is the last time I take an order from here. While I was sitting to wait for my order, I saw bunch of chef inside talking, chilling and never paying attention to what they do. I already felt that my food would be over cooked and sloppy. So, when I head home and started open the pizza box and chicken box. Oh gosh, my guess was right. The chicken was over burned and it seems like they re fry 2 times. The pizza was dry and I could see the burn from corn. I like their soft pizza. But this time , it looked like the frozen pizza is being warm up. I paid almost 40$ for regular pizza and 12 wings. I don’t mind their price but at least I want to enjoy my meal. A message to the manager that, keep eye on your staffs, the people in the kitchen talked and chilled loudly, the front desk take forever to take the order, and they eat their own ice cream whenever they feel like it. I spotted them even I was...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would. We came in with 40 people from a wedding and this was hands down the most unprofessional bartender. She intentionally refused to serve us because she assumed I was Intoxicated although I was the only person drinking diet soda. There were no patrons in grottos except our wedding party and so we were not disturbing anyone after sitting for 30 minutes no drink we asked another restaurant employee and we asked for diet soda and she then refused to grab me a drink because she was only stocking things. These girls are the reason on a Saturday this restaurant was empty with the exception of our group and she made some snide remarks to the groom and had we known we’d be treated with such substandard service we would have gone to crooked hammer.
