When I lived abroad, coming home to see my family, stopping by The Slice was a highlight of my trip as I would always take my brother there. Just him and I, a few brews and delicious pie. Unfortunately, I can't say that it is what it once was. I need the owners to know that it's slipping. If a single can of beer is going to be $7, then the pizza HAS to have sauce. If the kitchen is out of toppings, the customer needs to be informed when they order. The $20 pep pie was served with no sauce. The cheese coagulated into a gum that was stuck to the crust with no sauce. Sauce is flavor. It's the largest cheat code in all of pizza. If there's no sauce, the cheap cheese turns to gum and ruins the crust. The Everything slices that were ordered were done so since we noticed last year that pizza by the slice was better than an entire pie. This time, VERY little sauce, cheese, pepperoni, but all the veg, the veg that kitchen had in stock, seemed to have been tossed on after the pie came out of the oven. ... I am pleading with management, owners, kitchen staff, anyone who will listen. Please return to the awesome pizza gem that The Slice used to be. When we walked in, I was upset because it was completely empty on a Sunday at 5 pm. I mentioned that we would have to eat here more often and support the restaurant before we lose it. Sadly, it must be said that I do not plan on returning to what was my favorite pizza spot unless the quality seriously comes back around. $30 for 4 cans of Blue Moon was a surprise, but not nearly as disappointing as coming to the conclusion that whoever is running the kitchen, their heart is not this anymore.
I didn't have the heart to say anything at the time. We ate a few slices, had our beers, I paid the check, and we left. Family commented later about sending the pie back and refusing to pay for it, but again, that's not in me. The lady tending the bar was very nice, and of course, I tipped her. She didn't make the pizzas. She was even kind enough to get us little cups of sauce to dip our slices in.
I just... this was my favorite place. I hate criticism as people usually get overly defensive, and all they hear is that they are getting blamed for something. I just...

Read moreOkay so I've been to the slice once before sometime last summer and we got a pizza. It was really good. Well I just went again and ordered another pizza and a sandwich. We didn't want to sit at the bar so we sat in the next room . There were tvs and pool tables. The tvs were not on and were coated with about 2" of dust. Underneath the pool tables were the same. Very dusty. Also.Christmas decor still up but barely. Anyways , after 10min . We recieved our drinks in glasses that were painted on the outside and peeling. Okay I kinda can live with that but then the pizza came. The pizza itself was pretty good but the crust was so hard!! I mentioned this to the waiter. He said yea you can use that as a weapon. That was it. I didn't necessarily want a new pizza but not to do anything was pretty sad. I should have pushed them to make me another pizza but I'm the kind of person to just deal with it. Anyways so the sandwich. O boy! The meat looked as though it had been sitting out and was dry. They totally forgot the sauce and waiter says. Yea customers complain about that. I said well you forgot the sauce. He gave me 2 small cups of sauce on the side and told me to microwave it when I get home. The sandwich was for my husband at home. He took 1 bite and threw it away. When we left we walked by the kitchen which was opened to the outside. GROSS! I Will never eat there again. I don't know what happened between last summer and now buy it went...
