A couple years ago, during "covid times", we visited the Triple Moon Coffee Company in Middletown, Ohio. Ron Howard was filming "Hillbilly Elegy" at the time around the area and frequented the place. So, we went in search of it. Had a great lunch there, and I always wanted to go back. We have since moved, and are even closer to the area.
Finally today, we visited again. Great idea! I love this place. My special hippie hangout. The people are great and friendly and efficient, especially for the big business they handle. Triple Moon has become one of my favorite coffeehouses.
One orders at the counter, from an extensive menu of coffees, beverages, soups, sandwiches, pastries. The staff brings your order to you when it is ready.
I had the "Moon Over Italy" ham and salami sub on a soft sub bun. It comes with kettle fried potato chips and a pickle. DELICIOUS. I also ordered chicken noodle soup. I am a chicken soup addict! Tons of thick noodles, soft and juicy pieces of chicken and a hot, flavorful broth with carrots. Very tasty and comforting.
My husband ordered the egg salad on sub bun, which was equally good, and a cappuccino. Sandwiches can be ordered on ony bread selection, which includes bagels, croissants, sub buns, etc. They can be made hot or cold. Their coffees are very good. We shared a stuffed oreo muffin. Mmmmm!
Being a child of the 60s, I love the hippie atmosphere of the place. All in all, it is a place that is just my style. Very comfortable and enjoyable. We will return for sure. So glad to see it...
Read moreFound this great place while on a drive. I meet my friends (who have 10 and younger kiddos) there often. There are toys there for them to play with too. My favorite is the book nook. Bring the books you don't want and take some that you do! They also display local artists work, from photography to hand made jewelry it is all beautifully displayed and makes TMC cozy. What makes TMC comfy is the seating and atmosphere. All the employees are great and smile all the time. You can tell they enjoy what they do. They also have a card that after so many drinks you get one free. I have tried the frappes, iced coffee, teas, the egg salad sandwiches and muffins. All the food has been good.
Since they are right in the middle of historic downtown they welcome vendors from what ever is going on downtown (like when there was ladies day out, dog days etc) into the shop and make it part of the attractions. My friends and I love going and having "girl time" where we feel safe, included and comfortable! At least 1-2 times a month we are there, go try TMC, you won't be disappointed!
They also have a back and side rooms where large groups can meet. We were witness to a graduation party and an alcohol painting class. It's easy to relax and smile while you...
Read moreIt really pains me to leave a bad review because I’ve been a customer for years but my last few experiences have been really distasteful. Not only is their food over priced considering they use microwave bacon and charge $8 for a pb&j but their costumer service really shocked me today. I called about the cost of our food and she explained why it was so expensive for 4 sandwiches, I accepted and ended the call only to find she over charged us for things we didn’t even get. Our sandwiches were cold, our bacon was floppy and rubbery, we were missing the extra sauces that cost us extra money. We asked for well done bacon and somehow got charged for extra meat? When I tried to call her back they ignored my phone calls. I tried to call back a few more times and started getting sent to voicemail. I am all for supporting local businesses but not local businesses that treat local people poorly. I’ve supported this coffee shop for years even over paying for cheaply made food but I guess we will be better off going to McDonald’s from now on....
