Young's BBQ — Restaurant in Middletown

This review is based solely on catering capabilities.

We used Young's BBQ for our wedding in September 2016. While the food was good, the service was below par. I would not recommend them for catering. We knew there were some communication problems from the beginning, but tried to brush it off knowing that as long as the food showed up we would be alright with it. Well, the food showed up, but not until right when we were supposed to eat! It was not set up and all the guests were standing around while the owner set up all the food. And then he seemed to be in a rush to get out of there, asking us to make sure people came back for seconds. We were not going to walk around and push people to go eat more, it's a wedding and people are relaxing! I understand that the contract said 1 hour of service but he showed up late so we expected more leniency.

This was the only vendor we had a problem with so it was less than noticeable but definitely a frustration. I don't think the owner even thought it was a big deal which was the frustrating part. The customer service is just a little too laid back for a wedding in my opinion.

Otherwise, the food was good. We weren't the biggest fan of the potato salad (we chose the other ones over it) and he brought potato salad for free because he insisted that we had it so that was nice of him.

We had a good meal, so I'm sure the restaurant is a good place to go, but think twice about catering. I am sure there are other comparable places with better...

Customer service was good, I ordered the brisket sandwich meal, first the brisket was cold to the touch second there was hardly any bbq sauce on the sandwich however the amount of meat on the sandwich was enough to make two sandwiches but there was no seasoning the meat was bland and cold. This place would be perfect for older people who suffer from high blood pressure absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. The whole experience was not bad, the coleslaw was great the Mac and cheese not so much. Me personally I will not be going back. The cookie pie was good, two chocolate chip cookies with whip cream in the middle made my inner child happy. I really wish I could find a real bbq spot in Delaware. I’m pretty upset because I threw up after eating that sandwich 🤢 but the customer service was top tier 👍If you guys wanna grow your business put a touch of love in the brisket. Again the people were excellent the food was 2.1 out of 10 in my opinion. For all the family and friends review you guys should help out by buying the food and stop making reviews that fool all of us. I work two jobs I hope I feel better by the morning. I just had the worst experience with this place ever!!! I have eaten in and taken out from Young's numerous times. I rave about the pork since the first time I tasted it during the Peach Festival a few years back. I called yesterday and spoke to Keith regarding an order. After being given the pricing and amount I would need I advised him that I would call back to place an order. Well, I received a call from him today using the number that showed up on his caller ID. He literally called and harrassed the person(not me) who answered the phone. He questioned who she was and her position at my place of employment. He went on and on about how he didn't appreciate me putting him on the spot with all my questions and how people shouldn't wait until the last minute to place orders. Seriously, is Young's so hard up for business that they need to call people who did not leave their name or contact information to yell at them for not placing am order. I WILL NEVER...
