I ordered lunch at Mancino’s for the first time today, I work in the Midland area. When I called ahead I explained to the gentlemen that I was getting my haircut and wouldn’t be able to pick it up for a bit and asked if they could start it at a specific time, he said “I tell you what call me when you’re done and I’ll throw it in the oven” when I arrived it was ready to roll and tasted great, but just to top it off… the gentleman who made my food and rang me out ( I can’t remember his name 😕) asked how my haircut was and I told him “it was good had to get looking right for pictures , my wife is having our baby tomorrow!” He then took out a slip and gave me a coupon to bring my girls in and get pizza on the house! What a great gestures to make that he did not have to, it really made my day. I wish more business in todays day and age did more things for their customers that “old school” way and make you feel at home like he did me today. Something as simple as that earned them a customer in me and my...
Read moreThis is an "order at the counter, get your own drink and find a table" kind of place and I'm good with that!
They have a very extensive menu with grinders, pizza and salads so you'd be hard pressed not to find something you like.
I ordered the half Italian grinder and when it came to the table I literally asked if it was a whole sandwich, it's that big! The bread is toasted and the toppings are yummy with some unexpected surprises... mushrooms, a bit of ground sausage!? And the sandwich isn't overly piled with lettuce and tomato. It's a deliciously balanced sandwich.
Hubby ordered a pizza which looked delicious and in law's ordered the chicken Alfredo which also looked great.
All our meals came to the table hot too.
Not much else to comment on since it was grab a bag of chips and fill my own soda but I would prefer Coke instead of Pepsi!
Great place for a quick, delicious meal with no expectations of fancy surroundings but just a...
Read moreThis location used to be much better several years ago. I ordered a Steak Grinder a few weeks ago and it had more bread than toppings. They were very stingy with the meat and it was only so-so. Not how I remembered their food. I gave them another chance last week and ordered a Mancino's Pride Pizza. It was ready when promised but was almost cold and again, I was disappointed with the amount of toppings. They are obviously trying to cut costs. They also did not have a Veterans discount.
I regularly stop at the Mancino's in Gaylord on my way up North and get a 20% Veterans discount and the food is so much better with generous helpings of meat and toppings on Grinders and Pizza.
After 2 consecutive bad experiences with the Midland location, I will choose to spend my money elsewhere and get my Mancino's fix only when I pass...
