I am at walk-ons frequently. My wife and I set at the bar top and the service is very good. Today I order an off menu item, 'Blackened Shrimp', it was delicious. To make this visit and special order even better, the cook from the kitchen who actually cooked my meal delivered it and brought me the most flavorful garlic butter (by request). The name of the cook who delivered the meal and went above and beyond his job duties, is TRENT. He was courteous, kind and friendly. My meal was Incredibly good and the service was even better. The ladies behind the bar never disappoint either. I will continue to frequent Walk-on's as long as they keep serving tasty food and have such great staff.
Update: Today is January 21, 2023 and one of the hostesses at the front counter told us that our wait would be 45 minutes. This was not a big deal, but there were all kinds of people waiting and from the front entrance there was a tap booth open. To Walk-ons credit a young man went and cleaned it, and yet it stayed empty. I asked about this booth and we were told in a rather snarky manner that there are others before us that were getting that table. The table was empty for about 10 minutes before they were seated. Before they seated the table, when I had asked about it again I was told that "we are seating others just as a restaurant is supposed to do". She didn't need to be rude, there are other ways to handle issues like this. The young woman had brunette hair. I come here often, though I will think twice before bringing friends from out of town to walk-ons in Midland after this type of behavior. The water is distasteful. If you know Midland then you know Midland water and that's exactly what they are serving(Midland swamp water) As far as the food it was nasty my catfish was soft cooked when asked for it to be fried Harder as you see below it was left for the trash on my plate due to the mushy inside still. The crawfish etouffee was a mixture of yea and right totally not nailed as a traditional etouffee meal it had a few crawfish tails alot of bland no flavor sauce(It reminded me of vegetable soup minus the veggies) The hush puppies kept me pretty quiet they had a nice flavor and kick, The Louisiana corn was a concoction of ughhhh and yuck. If it was a 10/10 rating I'm giving a 3 of kindness. Now Anna (Team lead/Some manager of sort) unaware of her role she plays....approached our table in order to ask us how was things? I told her honestly the Raspberry lemonade (alcohol) beverage was nasty and bland she then proceeded to discribe the drinks at hand was made with moonshine which was also nasty. When she didn't retrieve the answer she hoped for she grabbed our drinks in an upsetting manner then disappeared into the dawn never to return but we was only charged for the drinks at hand. Read moreToday Tuesday January 3 2023.. Me & My other 4 co-workers try to eat in this place.. are get at the table at 12:00pm waiting for the server. I stand up and ask to the Host girl. How are the server.. she going to the back and tell the server your new table ask for your.. Take 15 minutes to come and ask what are Goin to drink are bring the order for the Drinks & the Food as well.. with No appetizers.. to get or food fast.. but are need to get to work at 1pm.. The server never explain the kitchen is busy.. and after 45 minutes I saw the server close to are table and I ask how long is going the food ready.. and she tell us sorry I don't know but I still not riceve the foor for the first table yet.. That I tell the server sorry are need to cancel that order.. why if you know the kitchen is busy why you don't tell your client that issues and give the notices in advance and the client know if want to wait or not.. That is not acceptable I working like a GM for almost 20 years if your don't have enough employees to run the restaurant pleas close some section of the restaurant that the clients there not going to be affected and run the restaurant more smooth until you found more employees.. BTW I never saw the Manager ask the clients if is everything is ok.
Yall need restructure your service complete or this restaurant is not going to be open for long time..... The food is great but the service is going down the...
