Update 5.30.23 We've been back a few times since this review but have not updated. Tonight we had the calamari appetizer, chicken Marsala and chicken picatta. All things We've had before but still really enjoyed them. We haven't had a bad meal here yet. Cannolies to take home that are also fabulous. Still two thumbs-up! Dinner tonight trying a new place in Midlothian TX. There are lots of mom and pop Italian restaurants and most are just average so we went with mixed anticipation. The restaurant was smaller than it looked but the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. We started with the calamari, a favorite of ours and recommended by our server. The breading was thin and very crispy and the calamari was tender. The seasoning was light but tasty. Very good. I had the chicken Marsala with a side of fettuccine alfredo and roasted vegetables. What a wonderful dish. The sauce was seasoned correctly and plentiful. The chicken was tender, the mushrooms were firm but still soaked in the sauce, the vegetables were fully cooked and still crunchy. Just perfect! I am a conisour of alfredo sauce and it is a standard I judge every Italian restaurant by. This was some of the best I've had. The sauce was rich with the parmesan cheese and had just the right consistency. All of it was about as good as I've had in a long time. Diane's review: I had the lasagna, which I don't normally order because I love my mom's lasagna and haven't found one as good.😊. This had a lot of good flavor and had plenty of meat and cheese included. They do single servings cooked in the oven in a round dish, rather than sliced from a large pan and placed on a plate. I would prefer it placed on a plate, as a bowl collects and holds the grease in the dish. However, it was good and I enjoyed it, though I would probably order something else next time, because of personal preferences. We were full and were not going to order dessert until we saw the cannolies and decided to take one home for latter. There is no picture but I can tell you it was one of the best I've had. The marscapone was smooth with just enough sweetness and the shell was fresh and crispy. I would come back just for these if they are always this fresh. Overall it was a great experience and we look forward to returning. Highly recommended two...
Read moreOur family and friends of our families ate at this restaurant on 10-21-18. To the owner of this restaurant: you did not do a good job of preparing your new hires as to what their jobs were as waitresses and waiters. Most of your staff was clueless and was running around like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. You set your employees up for failure and it was obvious by how clueless some of them were. It took your waiter over 20 minutes to bring out our beverages. We waited over 30 minutes for your staff to take our menu order. We were snacking on the bread basket you provided and a clueless waiter came by and asked if we wanted any more bread, and we said no. The waiter removed the bread basked that was on our table which still had bread in it to take it away, yet we stopped him and told him we wanted to finish eating the bread he left us 10 minutes before. We were in this restaurant over 1-1/2 hours from when we arrived to when we left and spent most of the time waiting. One waitress told us this was her first day on the job and that was her excuse for their poor service. The owners did not properly prepare their empoyee's to serve in their restaurant. The owners set their employees up for failure. When the check was brought out, we paid for it, and afterwards, the waiter came by and quickly removed the folder from our table before we left as if he could not wait to see what tip he got, or should I say, did not get. This is unprofessional! The waiter/waitress should have the courtesy to wait until the party has left the table to go remove their folder to see what tip they got or did not get. In this case, I do not blame the waiter/waitress staff. It is the owners who set their empoyee's up for failure and I hope they will improve so their business will succeed...
Read moreI ordered online for pickup.. I got the veal, lobster ravioli, fried cheese ravioli and cheesy garlic bread. I was going to be on the road so I did select the option to include cutlery. I recieved my food curbside and left. When we got in the truck to eat there was so much grease in the bag and they didn't include and napkins. I opened up my veal and it was smothered in greasy sauce. I wanted to try it but that did not include any cutlery. I drive around for 20 minutes looking for a place I could get some cutlery from and got a spork from a gas station. How a restaurant can forget cutlery and napkins on a to go order that actually requested it I cannot believe. So I'm cutting my greasy veal with a very flimsy sport and it tasted like sauce. Wasn't seasoned at all. I found some salt in the truck and that made a slight difference. I ate about 1/2 of the veal before I gave up. Noodles and veggies that were in the container were a lost cause because they were drenched in the sauce. Everything was mixed together. I tried the fried ravioli. Took two bites and put it down. Outside was hot but middle was cold. The cheese was bland and not melted but gritty. The beating was only crispy along the edges and the middle was almost soggy. I think they must freeze them and fry them when ordered. Totally gross. The garlic bread was good but not cheesy. The lobster ravioli was good according to my boyfriend and that's why I have it two stars. I would suggest not getting a to go order from them ever. Stay away from the veal and anything deep fried. I will not go here again. I spent $67.00 and ended up going to bed hungry, aggravated, and with...
