Visited this location today, for starters the young man at the front had no customer service skills. Placed my order and then asked for my receipt to which the young man advised he had already thrown it away. I asked him to reprint it for me when he had a minute and told him I could wait as there were people behind me so he could take their order. I initially only asked for the receipt because if the fact that I used a coupon on my app and realized what I paid was about $5 over what I normally pay for the same exact order every time I go to Schlotzsky’s. He then retrieved my receipt from the trash and said he didn’t want me to touch it because he had just gotten it from the trash (understandable,) he then starts to read off the prices and I immediately questioned why my small veggie sandwich was more than $5.79 as that’s not only the price I’ve always paid but it’s also the price on the board. The young man then proceeds to say “yeah all our prices have gone up” to which I said well shouldn’t the prices be updated on the menu behind you or a sign somewhere like all the other restrictions who are taking price increases? He then proceeded to say “yeah honestly I don’t think they are going to change our signs anytime soon, I’ve had a couple of people ask why the prices are different from what the menu says, even the Cinnabons are $1.00 more and they haven’t even changed these (as he points to the Cinnabon area), but I’ll be sure to tell someone something again.” Believe me…I know prices are raising in everything literally everywhere so it’s not that I mind paying, however to plain out say people have questioned it and still not have any type of notification up is a bit much. Either put the notice up or honor what your menu says…plain and simple. I literally drove up the road to the Waxahachie location since my husband called and also wanted his normal meal, I purchased his and asked about price changes and they advised there have been no price increases on their menu…so what’s...
Read moreI strongly recommend avoiding this place—both as a customer and as an employee.
As someone who has worked here, I can say that the work environment is extremely stressful and unprofessional. The owners do not treat their employees with respect, and the conditions in the restaurant are concerning. Many employees, including myself, have been overworked, underpaid, and subjected to unfair treatment.
There have also been serious health and safety issues. The establishment has failed multiple health inspections in the past, and the only reason we passed recently was because a former general manager worked tirelessly to improve things. Unfortunately, she was forced to quit due to mistreatment, and when she left, she found that $1,000 was missing from her final paycheck. Another former employee had the police called on him after he came in to ask about $900 missing from his paycheck due to a “new rule” where employees who give two weeks’ notice receive a pay cut.
Cleanliness is a major issue.
Mold has been found in the fountain drink machine, which is why it was closed for a long time. The oven used to toast bread is completely black with burned food stuck inside, constantly producing a burnt smell. The so-called “homemade” bread is prepared without gloves, and some bakers frequently touch their faces while handling the dough. Flies are everywhere, raising concerns about food safety. Employees are also subjected to unreasonable charges and policies.
We are required to bring our own cups for drinks—otherwise, the owner charges us $3 per cup. The owner does not provide uniforms for free; instead, employees are charged $30 per shirt—I had to pay $60 out of my own paycheck just to meet the uniform policy. Overall, this place is poorly managed, unsanitary, and does not value its employees. I highly recommend that you do not work here and do...

I worked at this location for 2 pay periods in May 2022, and did not receive a paycheck.
The owner was not paying his employees properly, so I stood up to him and explained that it was illegal not to pay the employees properly. The hourly employees were working 50+ hours a week and were not given their over time. They were only paid for 40 hours a week.
When my first check failed to show up in my bank account, I verified all of my information was correct and showed proof that I never received the deposit. I trusted the owner to correct this by the second pay period. When that day came, everyone was paid except me. I reached back out to the owner and expressed frustration, he claimed that I was lying because I wanted double checks and demanded that I call him and three way call my bank (which would require me to verify my personal private information with him on the line listening). When I denied that, he just left it at that. I told him I was not going to return until I was paid properly. Needless to say, I never returned.
I submitted a claim with Texas Workforce Commission, and he told them that he had no idea that the first check was returned and that the second check was sent as a partial payment (which was a lie. It was my wife’s paycheck from her time working there). Once I was able to provide proof including paystubs and screenshots of messages sent back and forth, he was finally told that he needed to pay me. It is now 4 months later and I finally received payment.
It wasn’t the amount that I was worried about. It’s the fact that he thinks that he can get away with not paying people because he owns the franchise. If I were you, I’d steer clear of working...
