We waited a long time to be seated this evening, way past the 20 minutes we were given as the wait time when we checked in. We should have taken this as a sign to leave. When we were finally called, we picked our steak and were directed to our table. There was trash all over the floor under our table.
Fletcher was our server, and he arrived very quickly after being seated to take our drink orders. He was extremely friendly, and every time he came to the table, he was sure to ask if he could get us anything else. The major issues started when our dinners arrived. 2 steaks 1 porterhouse t-bone and a 20oz ribeye. They were supposed to be cooked medium and medium-well. Both steaks were charred and beyond well done.
Fletcher asked if our steaks were ok, to which we both showed him, and he said, I'm so sorry those are both well done and he repeated our orders to us. He said he wanted to bring his manager over. The manager Courtney came over and apologized. She said she could have new steaks done in 8 minutes and cooked correctly this time.
I wish I could say this horrible experience ends here.. The new steaks arrived this time, the porterhouse was rare, and the ribeye is borderline well done. I asked Fletcher what a rare steak looked like? He said it's a very pink steak. I then showed him the porterhouse and asked like this? He gasped and again apologized. He said that is rare and this never happens and wanted to get his manager again, so he left the table.
Fletcher came back and asked if we wanted to wait for more steaks to be cooked. We obviously declined. He then stated that the manager Courtney wanted to take the porterhouse off the check. This time around, the manager didn't come back to the table. I honestly can't believe this is how a paying customer was treated because your cooks were clearly incapable of cooking steaks. We originally picked out our ribeye when our first one came out wrong Courtney acted like it was a massive inconvenience for my husband to pick a new one so we were left with whatever they chose for us.
Fletcher was a great server, and the only good thing I can't say about this dinner. On date night that we paid a sitter to watch our children for, then had to pay for her to stay late because you kept screwing up the food. Half of the sides were left behind when the first steaks were taken so those were cold by the time the new steaks arrived, the mashed potatoes that came with both steaks were cold. We spent 55 dollars tonight at your restaurant for a salad, some bread, and a few sides. That's sad, and this should have been handled better. Foutyfive minutes after leaving this restaurant, the texts started coming in to tell us our table is almost ready. The photo is of the second...
Read moreSteakhouses aren't my thing in general. But Texas Roadhouse seems to have overly greasy food compared to other steakhouses. My stomach can't handle a bucket of grease without getting sick, so this isn't my go-to place for steakhouse food. If I come here, i have to eat very little and take the rest home and nibble on it here and there. Is the food bad? No, its good. But just overly greasy. I dont choose to come on here on my own, but i find myself here on occasion bc it seems to be a hotspot for certain outings i get invited to such as birthdays, etc. Everyone else seems to love the place though. Its also not a go-to place for drinks for me. Im a real liquor drinker. And tequila is my preferred liquor. So i know a quality margarita compared to garbage and if im paying $10-15 for a margarita, i should be getting served a quality one and not the garbage TR serves. They taste like bottled weak pre-mixed stuff. Theres no taste of the tequila, and it's just overpowering w sweetness, and lets not forget to mention how weak they are. Pre mixed margaritas are notoriously weak and not real deal, so if they are using pre mix, that would answer things. If the bartender is making them from scratch, they are obviously diluting to save on liquor costs. Which probably answers why they've come up w the whole buy a extra shooter sceme to con people into paying the extra money to get more liquor for their drink. Yall might fool others, but not me. Youd have to drink 3-4 margaritas here to feel the same effects that 1 quality margarita should give you. Save your money and buy drinks elsewhere. And lastly, I do have a suggestion for the owner (or whoever) to consider. I would suggest investing in a different type of cheese for the cheese fries that melts smoother, bc the cheese literally turns into rubber. I'm assuming they are using cheddar which is notorious of doing this. They also should layer the fries with the cheese and bacon, instead of just putting it all on top. All of the cheese and bacon is melted on the top few fries and none of the other fries have anything on them. And no one wants to eat a single french fry with 10 french fries worth of cheese stuck to it, so everyone picks through it, and then you just have a giant ball of rubber cheese left over with a bunch of naked fries. Layering would easily turn that appetizer into a much...
Read moreWe’ve been going to the Texas roadhouse over near Chesterfield town center for the better part of 10 years. The takeout section of the restaurant has gone downhill for over the past few years. You can be 100% sure that whatever sauces and dressings you order are not going to be there or be wrong. Any extra sauces that you asked for are not gonna be there. You always have to go back in. Which brings me to another thing, they stopped bringing your food to you like they used to. You now have to go inside. Not the end of the world, but kind of annoying when the location on Hull Street still comes out to your car.
We’re so irritated with this my wife and I decided to try the Hull Street location even though it’s a little bit further away from our house. We got takeout. Very nice person brought the food out and wouldn’t you believe it, everything we ordered was there! Our steak salads, the dressings we asked for, the extra dressings, and a great appetizer, the grilled shrimp. We usually get the same thing and I can tell you the last time we got the grilled shrimp from the Chesterfield town center location, there was no garlic butter sauce, No lemon, the shrimp weren’t even set on the pieces of roll. It was a shrimp on a wooden skewer and they close the lid and said here’s your order.
The Texas Roadhouse near Chesterfield town center could only dream of having service for take out as good (they used to). Must be a management issue with that spot. I’m not sure but it’s pretty bad to see because Texas Roadhouse is my favorite restaurant. We’ll start using the Hull street location and then when we decide to eat in, go there as well until the one by Chesterfield town center can get their act together.
Seems like a regional manager or somebody higher than the store manager needs to step in. It’s not just us. We’ve asked other people that get takeout and they experience the same thing all the time. Again, if you eat in at Chesterfield town center it’s usually really good. It’s just the takeout that’s always a problem. Photo is from the location on Hull Street. Included were all of the items that you always have to go back in the store for when you order from Chesterfield town...
