The manager Mike Holes needs to be trained and reminded by the owners of Glory Days that he is in a business where customer Service is more Important than his need to harass customers placing to go orders and parking in to go parking.
If I could give Glory Days a negative rating so they could feel the impact of how the word of mouth of the way their manager on duty Mike Holes treated a regular customer will impact their reviews and pockets.
I originally typed a book as I sat at the bar for 15 minutes after this occurred waiting for my to go order. It was in the form of a check in and had character limits.
Mike Holes confronted me as I pulled a stool out to sit at the bar and place my order demanding that I move my car out of to go parking. Instead of responding in similar fashion to how this adult reprinting himself as the manager of this location, I simply replied this is a to go order and the bar tender had placed the menu down as this was going on. He didn’t care, he was insistent that I move my vehicle. His immediate reason is that we need our to go parking and I’ve got 2 others parked in to go spaces that I don’t know who they are but you’re the only one I can identify so I need you to move your car.
I moved my car one space to the left which was a regular parking space. When I returned to the bar the bar tender asked me if everything was okay and I asked her the managers name. My order was ready 15 minutes after entering the restaurant. As I was leaving I requested Mike the managers card and the young ladies in take out went to get Mike. He comes over in a huff and tears a piece of paper and writes his name and phone number to that location. I walked out the door and hear one of the take out associates ask Mike what’s his problem? Mike Holes responded Oh he’s just mad because I made him move his car. I immediately turned right around and confronted the manager Mike Holes on his customer service skills and mistreatment of a regular Customer over a to go parking space being used for a to go order. Mike Holes continued to tell me that although my order was a to go order it was not a call in to go order and it was not the same as a to go order. MAKES NO SENSE and at some point this MANAGER should have stopped talking and thought his words and explanation through but NOT TO BE THE CASE this night! I pressed him on the fact that IF he was so sure that the 2 other cars parked in his to go parking spaces were such an issue why don’t you have them towed since clearly they aren’t doing takeout. He says I wish I could. Ok you wish you could but you’re stressing me and alienating a customer because you just happen to see me...the Customer that is at the bar placing a to go order as I’ve done many times in the past when not dining in. One final comment that I made to Mike regarding a female employee that parked in Customer parking. This female worker was walking around from the take out area and back to the kitchen area and around the restaurant. My reason for pointing this out to the manager Mike since he apparently is also the on duty misguided parking police manager...that surely this isn’t allowed for employees to park in customer parking. I look down and the female worker is actually sitting on the floor in the take out area while I’m talking to Mike the Manager. He looks down and replies oh she’s off...
Long read I know and I wish I hadn’t stayed there for the to go order with this poor treatment by management but after a 12 hour work day this was the last thing I needed and it could have gone a totally different direction.
It will be the last time I or any member of my family and any friends and acquaintances that feel moved by my story of disrespect by this manager Mike Holes and Glory...
Read moreDumpling stopped here as Dumpling wanted a burger that wasn’t fast food. Dumpling had been driving all day for work and just needed a break from the road. Upon entering, Dumpling had to wait a few minutes as no one was at the hostess stand. Once seated it was another 5+ minutes before a server came over. This was around 2pm so very light crowd. Might I add this was a hot day and they had the A/C on full blast so even for Dumpling it was a little on the cold side (not a big deal). Ordered the Brisket Short-Rib Burger Blend. On the menu it states that pickle doesn’t come unless asked for (and I didn’t ask for the pickle) and it didn’t mention that it had lettuce, tomato, onion. I did ask if I could get grilled onions since I didn’t think it came with those toppings. Waiter failed to inform me that the burger did come with those toppings and that it was a $0.99 add on for grilled onions. I would have passed if I had known it had come with lettuce, tomato, and onion. My side was fries. Food arrived and it was a little burnt on the edges (charred flavored). The burger was dry (I had ordered no pink - not well done) and was not anything great. As you will see it comes with lettuce, tomato, and of course my grilled onion swap (but I would assume if I hadn’t ordered grilled onions it would have had raw onion). And the pickle was placed directly in the middle of the burger. If Burrito had been with me this sandwich would have been sent back as Burrito does not like pickles anywhere near much less on top of their food. Fries were decent but lacking seasoning as they claim to be seasoned fries. So this visit was a disappointment as was hoping for a really great burger and was presented with a very average at best burger. Lastly, this waiter proceeded to ask if I wanted my change when I went to pay with cash…I mean come on. Just bring me my change and then let me determine my tip there. Overall this probably is not a bad place but when it’s slow it seems that it is subpar and underwhelming for the price of a...
Read moreThis location has been around for years. We went for the first time in years as the competition is higher. It was still crowded and the location looks exactly as it did years ago. The menu is exactly as it was as well. They did have some craft beer which is a huge plus but were obviously not all into local craft beer just yet. However, the beer I ordered was flat, and it seems they are a domestic dominant base as every customer at the bar was drinking domestic lights. Got a signature burger, easy order, but despite all the extras on the burger it lacked flavor, and the burger was very dry. My partner in crime ordered a sandwich chicken philly, another easy one, and it was also dry and lacked flavor. Her sandwich looked like something we would have made at home on the fly. Bartender was pleasant and fairly attentive. They had several TVs on the local baseball game, but despite having the MLB package was not showing anything else. When the staff was asked to put a different game on a TV they were able to figure it out with a little help from us. Staff were in cheap NBA jerseys, which is out of season so they may want to rethink the uniforms. All in all it’s not a bad visit, just nothing really wowed us to come back. There are several restaurants going in next door, so it will pose a challenge. Overall, they need a bit of progressive thinking to catch it up as far as menu, environment, beer selection and maintenance, etc. Coming from experience, restaurants have to be innovative, if they rely on yesterday’s success tomorrow...
