The entrance to get on the 15 at 90th South after work is nearly impossible. So everyday my friend and I have to decide whether or not we wait on the 7 block long line of cars to get on the freeway, or do we forge ahead on Main Street, slowly, but moving. This day was decided to head North on Main and that was also taking forever. So we passed this place and decided to park until the traffic loosened up. It's a little dark, there were slightly intoxicated construction workers shouting profanities and making cheers to a co-worker who apparently had a good day. The have a full bar, no food, friendly servers. I imagine this attracts the lower middle class, 35 to 60 year old male base. Lots of blue collar types. I asked to put on the Nets/Jazz game so I could root for MY home team, the Nets, even though I'm really a Knicks fan, but even Brooklyn takes precedence over the Jazz. The prices were cheap. I don't know if this is ever a hopping bar, but it satisfied my needs perfectly. I didn't see if there was food nearby but if so, I imagine this would be a chill place to bring it to. Oh and apparently they just got a credit card machine like 2 days before I showed up. So it took about 15 minutes for them to learn how to swipe my card. Good times nonetheless. The traffic...
Read moreWe wanted to try a new local bar so we came here at around midnight to get a drink with some friends, we then noticed one of our tires were flat, we changed the tire in the parking lot and then went inside, it was 12:42 (18 minutes before last call) and we come in to order some drinks and the bartender, Dave, was saying we have 2 minutes to order our drinks before last call and he said it in the rudest way possible. The rest of the reviews also say that Dave is very rude, and we experienced that as well. He did not greet us, and he only let us buy 1 drink even though we had time before last call. I understand we came in late, but there is a nice way to handle things. There were only 2 other people in this bar so it’s not like it was busy. Dave was not welcoming person and we will not be returning. No wonder this bar was dead! Pool tables were...
Read moreI have been going here for almost a year. I’ve tried to be friendly (with Dave the main bartender), tip nicely, etc. He is consistently rude. The only people that hang out here is his family and longtime friends. Is he the bar owner? Because there is no way, if I owned a business, that I would allow someone like this to be a community builder. It’s as if you have to pass his 13-year-old teenager test…. have a beard, tattoos, be family or long-time friends, and then maybe you can make it into his community. If you want to just go and relax for a drink, shoot some pool, this would be a place. But, some of his minions seem to follow suit. So sad it can’t be a community type, cool place to hang out in the middle of SLC. It really is a cool building. But, the guts suck! If you want to meet new people that are welcoming, cool and chill…go...
