Home Again — Local services in Midvale

I’ve been looking for a cabinet hutch for over a year. Couldn’t find anything that fit my specific needs in a specific space. I love shopping locally and even better if the furniture piece has character and a story. I heard about Home Again online and wanted to try my luck.

This is a beautiful store! It had such a good variety of vintage, classic and unique pieces that I haven’t experienced in Utah. I spent 30 min. In this store and found everything I wanted in a cabinet hutch. I then talked with Taryn(sp?) who is the owner and he told me a bit of history about the store and was so kind and friendly. Every time I had a question about a piece he was there to help and point out unique characteristics that I didn’t notice. He was honest about the pieces of furniture, parts he had to fix himself. Payment was easy and delivery was also easy. I live about 20 min away and they delivered it on a Monday, I was in the store the previous Saturday(2 days!). I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place.

As well, if you have a love for coffee or chai there is a store across the street called tres gatos. Known for their Mexican chai. Delicious and a nice drink stop before heading to buy some...

I'm only posting this today because I'm disappointed with a recent experience. Normally I have a good time with the store and good luck finding thingsI bought a jar full of costume jewelry that was taped shut. I paid $40 for it and I was really excited because it looked like there was a lot of really beautiful costume jewelry inside of it.

However upon arriving home an inspecting the jewelry closer, almost half of it is broken, damaged or unwearable. I'm frustrated that I spent so much on damaged jewelry. Even if it is just costume jewelry. The label should have stated that some of it was broken or that the jar with the jewelry in it was only a decorative piece.

I know this store doesn't sell jewelry very often, but it's the principle of the thing to me I just wish they had been more honest. I now have to figure out what I'm going to do with a bunch of broken jewelry and single earrings.I'm relatively well pleased with the jewelry I did get that isn't broken and is wearable But I don't know that I would buy something similar...

I fell in the parking lot on a Saturday afternoon. There was an unattended mini pothole that as I turned the corner, I did not see. I cut my elbow, cut my hand, bruised my shoulder and knee as I went down. I was hurt and embarrassed! One of the co-owners came out and offered me a chiropractor's name and a $40.00 dollar gift certificate ands apologies! My shoes and purse were also ruined which was secondary to my injuries. I went back and was told that he would pay medical bills and reluctantly said that he would replace the damaged personal items. I have cancer-I need a pet scan next week. I can not hold my shoulder up far enough to have the test- no I am not not looking to sue but really? A phone call - NO !! Lucky I don't sue-just not in the right place or I would for sure!
