As a local who can walk here I am excited to see life being breathed into main street and there’s totally demand for a solid pizza place downtown. The Pizza at The Bambino is solid, especially if you like that Neapolitan style. I just think the restaurant is still working through some kinks in terms of atmosphere and service.

The ordering line runs by a large table and forces you to stand in front of the drinks fountain. It’s also the same area that the food comes out of the kitchen. This means you have kids running around, people trying to order, people trying to top off their drinks, and servers trying to deliver food all in the same intersection. It just creates a lot of inefficiency for everyone.

We can in around 5:30 on a Friday. I was happy to see the place was busy—that’s good for Midvale. But if you want to have a “date night” with your significant other I recommend coming later in the evening when there are less kids. Maybe once they get the upstairs finished they can put the 2 person tables up there for couples who just want to have a chill evening out. This place has great decor and feels very upscale, the pizza is “fancy,” so it’s perfect for an outing with your SO but the atmosphere when kids are running around makes it feel more like a Chuck E. Cheese.

There’s not enough family and group seating. There’s small cute tables but you have to rearrange the whole restaurant to sit with 4 or 6 people if the big tables are already occupied. If they want this to be more of a family pizza place they should bring in some bigger tables.

Pizza delivery and clean up—when you order they give you a metal number that tells the servers where to bring the pizza when it’s done. Unfortunately these numbers are impossible to decipher from a distance so the servers have to come up to every possible table to see who needs the pizza. This again makes the process inefficient and Neapolitan pizza will get a bit soggy and droopy after a while if it’s not served and eaten immediately. They also need to train their people to clear a table after they drop off a pizza—pizza pans we’re just sitting on tables that could have been used to seat guests. Or make it clear that guests are supposed to clean up their own tables and indicate where to deposit used pizza pans.

All in all the pizza is some of the best I’ve had in Utah and I want this place to succeed to anchor Midvale’s...

Chill, classy, clean, fresh and delicious pizza place. Came here on a Thursday because we tried the weekend and it was SO busy. Still popping on a Thursday but not too busy. The food was great in all! At first my wife and I were both underwhelmed. The simplicity of the ingredients and spices almost made it seem bland..? But after 1 slice it began to pick up and I must say we both appreciated the way the pizza picks up as you eat it. It almost helps you taste each ingredient on its own and given its very fresh, it makes for a wonderful meal. The this crust was so soft on the inside and still crisp on the outside. The flavor of the dough was delicious as well! The whole vibe here is great! We showed up in casual clothing while most people here were dressed nice and it still felt relaxed and comfortable. They only have a soda fountain which is okay but some specialty drinks would be a nice addition. The service was nice. I still tipped even though there’s not a lot of interaction between employees. You also tip before you order your food. The lighting and ambiance is mellow, dark and chill. Definitely worth trying and my wife and I will be back when it gets just a little warmer so we can eat outside! Side note, they have a cute little pizza matching game to play while you wait, they come in cool little pizza boxes up in the front. They also have boxes in the front I just pack your own food up which...

I always leave my reviews based on the food. That’s why we go, right?

So let’s start there. Ordered the Margherita and a cheese pizza + arugula salad.

The salad was outstanding. The lemon vinegar dressing along with the pine nuts and fresh parm were a perfect combo. I could have had just the salad and walked away happy.

I’ve read other reviews of soggy crust. Not this time. The crust was thin with just the right amount of firmness and crunch to it. No flop. Sauce was perfect. Fresh basil. Excellent.

The plain cheese was also great. Really gives you a sense for how good the sauce and crust are. Excellent on both accounts.

We were there on Prom night so the service was slow. That’s ok. Totally get it and the young lady who brought out our food was very apologetic. I have to assess my stars based on that experience tho. I doubt it’s the norm….

Atmosphere was cool. Spacious place. They have done a nice job with decor and mixing modern with nostalgia. Impressed. The only con is it was a free for all when it came to getting a table. It’s self seating. Again, prom night made it tough but I’m imagining it is like this on any busy night. Having people come to your table and ask how much longer you will be a couple times is a buzz kill on the atmosphere.

Will go again. Overall it’s a solid 5 for the food and that is what...

POV: You just uncovered a hidden gem in Midvale, Utah — and it tastes like Italy. If you’re craving wood-fired pizza with a soul, The Bambino is your next stop. This spot is tucked into Midvale Main Street’s artsy corner, and trust me… the flavor is WORTH the detour. 👀 🧀 Hand-stretched dough 🔥 Real fire oven 💥 Flavor explosion in every bite 📍Add it to your Utah food map 🗺️ Small-town charm + big-time flavor = Travel Therapy approved #UtahEats #HiddenGemsUtah #FoodieTravel #MidvaleUtah #TravelTherapy #bucketlist #UtahRestaurants
