The Black Goose Design — Local services in Midvale

I stayed in an AirBNB and LOVED the lofty down comforter on the bed and wanted one for my own bed. I showed up to The Black Goose because the internet said they were one of the only local stores that carry Pine Cone Hill bedding and I wanted to see if I could identify the right model on their floor. Despite having photographed the tags, with numbers that looked important, apparently I failed to capture the SKU. Sam was super helpful and friendly, letting me leaf through all their bedding samples.

She tried to track down the exact model of the duvet insert that I was looking for with her rep but my photos proved unhelpful. So when her rep couldn't answer the question, she REACHED OUT TO THE AIRBNB to find out exactly which duvet inserts they had on their beds.

Amazing sleuthing. Above and beyond.

My only personal preference is that I wish they carried some more Pine Cone Hill in-store (their sister bedding store, Layers, didn't have much either). The duvet inserts are better than I've ever experienced; I think they would sell a ton but instead you have to know what you're looking for and make a special order. I would have liked to see in person how lofty the midweight duvet insert is as it's probably useful for more of the year. But I got to sleep under the heavy weight "hibernation" duvet so I know I already love it and took the safe road and ordered what I knew I loved.

All around friendly atmosphere and lovely customer service (every employee I encountered said hello to me, it's a shame other reviewers did not have such a nice experience). And the staff didn't seem to judge or mind that I was only in for one very specific, relatively...

This place is a joke. I hired one of their interior design consultants to design a few rooms for me. 25k later, I realized that there was very little design present and a lot more furniture saleswoman. Huge bookcase in my office that had a ladder than stretched to the middle of the room--had to return it. Very overpriced on items they upholster in-house, i.e.. $2800 for a single person ottoman?? The window treatments are embarrassingly bad...and expensive for stuff that was created in-house...terrible...I could go on and on. Don't believe the 5 star reviews this place is an...

Not very friendly experience for out of area buyers. Would not arrange for someone to load our purchase. They were offering a 10% sale discount if we returned from out of state a week later or 5% discount if we took our purchase today. We accepted the 5% offer so we wouldn't have to come back.

When it came time to load our funiture, they said we would have to come back in five days. They should not have made the offer if they couldn't fulfill the commitment. Nice pieces, poor service, lots of excuses and then they evaded responsibility for not making good on...
