So this will be my second review as my first one did not seem to go through. Let me start off by saying we stayed at this hotel 6 years ago and it was beautiful and was the main reason we came back! This time was COMPLETELY different. This place is so ran down and taken over by the people living there. We checked in early and the front desk stated our room was ready and cleaned. Upon arriving it seemed clean yet later that night we found out it was most definitely not cleaned!! The toilet seat was cracked, the kitchen sink was clogged and smelly and the placed just seemed very ran down. The bed had brown stains on it, when I called down to get the sheets changed no one answered the phone. I went down to speak with someone and after walking around I found the front desk lady talking in the kitchen and completely ignoring and not paying attention to the front desk. VERY frustrating as I had to go down there in pajamas when a phone call could have been easier! The two options I was given to resolve the dirty bed was to change my own sheets as they had to housekeeping at this time, or move to another room. We decided to move to another room due to ANOTHER issue with this room/floor. The room two doors down from us was a huge family living in the hotel. They kept their door open 24/7 even when cooking so this lead to the WHOLE floor smelling like nasty food all the time! Our clothes ended up reeking of gross smelly food so I had to end up rewashing a family of 4 worths of clothes and waste a day of my vacation. After moving to our new room we noticed it actually smelt very clean! We then noticed little note cards placed around the room stated it was cleaned which was not in our first hotel room!! Which leads me to believe the room was never cleaned in the first place! We inspected the room and it seemed like it was cleaned and ready to go! My kids slept on the sofa bed which was not very comfortable for them so I recommend getting two beds instead of the sofa bed. They went to open the window and come to realize the HUGE safety hazard of the stopping mechanism to not allow the window to open all the way was busted and we were able to open the window the full way!! This is very unsafe especially if you have small children so be aware of that!! The elevators were dirty and smelly as well! A coffee spill was left there for the full time we were staying there it never got cleaned up and made the elevator sticky and look nasty! We stopped using the elevator at one point because of the smells from food on the 4th floor and spills. The stairs were not very clean AT ALL either, there was crumbs left all over for days even a chunk of food left there for days upon days. The hot tub was not very hot just seemed like a luke warm bath. When trying to turn on the jets it was very hard as the knob was busted. There was cigarettes, pepper packets, cups etc floating in the water at one point! So disgusting and not cleaned whatsoever!! The hot tub itself the seats were black and everything was stained!! The breakfast was not very good at all, the eggs were watery and the sausage was just about burnt and tasted stale. My husband came down after us to eat and there was no eggs left and still 30 mins of breakfast time, he saw the chef and asked if there were more eggs coming out and the man stated “no, they don’t pay me enough to make more eggs” and walked away. No more eggs came out after that. For as much as you pay for this hotel you would expect the staff to be nice and the breakfast to be decent but it was def not the car here!! I would not recommend this hotel to ANYONE staying here it is such a waste of money!! You pay lots of money to stay here just to get ripped off and feel like you’re staying at a motel! I will never waste my hard earned money on this facility or another Staybridge facility at that! This was by far the worst experience I have ever had! If you had a complaint the front desk was not very nice and seemed annoyed instead of trying to resolve any situation. This may not seem big to many but for someone needing to get a little work done it will be, the wifi was completely junk! Half the time it did not work and I had to go sit at another place that had free wifi in order for me to even get 30 mins of a little work done!! I will say this again DO NOT waste your money staying here unless you want to feel like you’re in a motel with tons of people...
Read moreONE OF THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCES WE’VE EVER HAD. I’ve been working in hospitality for years and I know it isn’t very difficult to maintain a nice hotel experience if you actually care and they do a very bad job at it and obviously don’t seem to care. We’ve stayed here two separate Saturdays in the last week and here is our awful experience:
The hotel isn’t kept very clean, the rooms or the public areas. The rooms we stayed in had dog pee stains on the carpet.
The breakfast is probably the worst experience we’ve had. BOTH times, when we went down they were completely out of coffee, milk, and gravy. The breakfast attendant (young blonde girl) is really kind but she doesn’t fill anything unless a guest has to tell her it’s empty then she goes and starts making it and brings it out 5-10 minutes later. The first stay she completely ran out of coffee cups and had to bring out ceramic cups for guests to reuse between each other (gross and the fault of whoever is in charge of ordering supplies). The juice machine was marked as “out of juice” the entire breakfast both times we stayed so obviously someone is trying to CUT COSTS ;) at the detriment of the guest. ALL the tables to eat at were disgusting and weren’t wiped down a single time. There was a long term guest having to step in and help her because she couldn’t handle it herself (the fault of the manager who NEEDS TO HIRE ANOTHER BREAKFAST ATTENDANT because it was extremely obvious to me and MULTIPLE other guests I spoke with that she couldn’t handle it herself). Besides all that… the breakfast was simply gross and you can tell they cut corners and get the cheapest possible stuff to save money.
Also, we asked for a simple 1 hour late check out each time and were denied both times because their “housekeeping manager said it was really busy”. I work in hotels and know how this works. This makes completely zero sense because if your housekeepers have so many rooms to clean, that leaves them with plenty of other rooms to clean while we’re getting our late check out. Seems like an excuse from a housekeeping manager who doesn’t want to have to deal with late check outs, awful service.
The only positive was the front desk attendants were very kind.
After staying the first time, we thought we’d come back and give Alisha and her staff one more chance but the second stay was just as bad. We will not be staying here in the future and will be telling our own IHG guests heading to salt lake not to stay here either. Alisha, you need to talk to your staff and whoever is in charge of ordering supplies and breakfast items. Do better or you will continue to lose loyal IHG customers who expect a...
