I was excited to try this new pizza spot in Midway that had such raving reviews. Ordered pizza at 4 for takeout that was supposed to be ready by 4:15. When i walked in at 4:10 the nonchalant high school employees said they’d get started on it (finished at 4:25). Not a huge deal but there was no one else there… confused why they didn’t start on it earlier. Now the worse part: the quality is truly worse than dominos or Pizza Hut but the price surpasses my favorites like Pizzeria 712 and Via 313 (both incredible sit down places btw). You might be thinking that maybe the portions are massive since the quality and price were so awful. No. It was the smallest pizza I’ve ever purchased. It felt like a mini personal pizza - for $20 that tastes like something I might buy at a roller rink?! Bummed to say the least and am only leaving a bad review to give transparency through all the “friend & family 5 star reviews” so we can hopefully get better food...
Read moreThis is the place to go for pizza! We sat on the patio, which was attractively landscaped - the owner even came out and tended to the gardens while we ate. The patio is kid-friendly, surrounded by a low open fence, and could also be a nice romantic lunch or dinner spot. This is not a Papa John’s - the pizzas are smaller and more sophisticated. The mushroom pizza was so clever and all the ingredients were clearly fresh and recipes were curated by a crafty chef. And the dough really knocks it out of the park! We got to meet the owner on our way out and he was so friendly and helpful - he was sweet with our toddler and gave us recommendations for other local food, shops, and hikes. This place is a gem!

Read moreWhile visiting Midway is itself a great time exploring the quaint shops, a close walk from the Glockenspiel hourly show at the town hall is another amazing experience, the Pizza Yard. It is located in a 120-year-old home with pizza ovens, fresh food and friendly staff. We enjoyed touring the gardens on the property still blooming in late October! Because of the cooler weather we had the wonderful option of dining in the pizza yurt complete with a wood burning stove, twinkly lights and quiet music. Add to that the stellar pizza and the seasonal salad we shared with three of us, and it was truly something our visitor from Canada will never forget. Are we coming back and recommending this restaurant to visitors from near and far? Absolutely...
